Great and simple

Nice small family restaurant in Varanasi's downtown.
Food very tasty and super fresh, you can actually hear them make it behind the curtain. The staff were kind enough to ask me about the spiciness levels (also have a separate non spicy section in the menu)
The Air conditioner inside is amazing, tuned for the perfect temperature

Humble and simple

Just like it says - very simple, uncomplicated fare. Probably wouldn't be my first choice, but it wasn't bad!

I ordered the Special Thali which includes sabzi (in my case green beans, carrots, potato, and cauliflower), rice, dal, a couple of roti, pickle, some butter paneer, raita, a little salad, some kind of sweetie, and papad. Pretty filling lunch actually.

3 stars instead of two because the owner was kind enough to go to the effort of making masala chai for me - it's not on the menu. That was nice! Lunch and a lift.

Small & Cozy

A small and cozy place to eat some home-style vegan/vegetarian meals in Benares! They have some vegan options on the menu already, even if they aren't marked as such! Always ask them to use oil instead of ghee (clarified butter), and you've got most of the dishes as vegan anyway. They do have some dairy-based dishes though, that can't be made vegan as of now, I think.

The biggest advantage of this place is that it is food that is easy on your stomach, and served in a hygienic way! That's saying a lot for Benares!

Pros: Friendly Staff, Home-style healthy food

Cons: Quite a bit of dairy is used, Not a large menu
