Vegan
Thai
Offers traditional vegan Thai food. Some dishes are pre-made, and there's also a made-to-order menu in English. Choices range from tomyum and flat rice noodle in gravy to papaya salad and green curry with rice. Moved out of the location across from Sahathai Department Store to this place off Karunrat in 2015. Reported closed January 2022.

A must visit! - Edit
We been spending tree days in Surat Thani and tried most of the vegan Jay restaurants here. This is by far the sweetest and most delicious place in this town. Staff is amazing the food is wonderfully and the price almost to "good".
Read moreAnd as previous review states they even offer food for free to people whom can't pay for them self.
A must visit if your in town. The happy cow address is a bit wrong so walk a little further and look for the yellow vegetarian sign. Because this place is filled with love!
Pros: Delicious, friendly staff, loving atmosphere and low price
Cons: none.

Wow! Best food! - Edit
Loved everythinng in this place! The buffet includes a lot of different dishes. We always skip the rice and try as many dishes as we desire! They also do a la carte, i.e. salads etc. We came back to this place several times as it was just so so good! They also have a finger root juice which is awesome (no added sugar of course). Oh and they have complementary hot ginger and turmeric tea!

The spring rolls here are delicious, so is the pad Thai! Just be careful with the spice level as they will say some items are only a little spicy, but I found them to be really spicy. Great options when traveling in Suri Thani😄also great high carb low fat options as there is tons of rice😄

Überzeugend! - Edit

Unexpected surprise - Edit
I went there for the veg buffet. The dishes are all really good and made with a lot of love. Probably you will also find things you never tried before, but trust me you should have. You also get healthy turmeric tea and water for free to your meal. The place is a few meters away from the street so it’s quiet and beautiful decorated as well. I was really happily surprised by this restaurant, it’s my favorite restaurant in Surat.

Amazing food and place - Edit
Hidden in a side road we found the restaurant (with the help of the happy cow app) and we were amazed! So basic but so sweet and nice. The food was really cheap but good quality! Besides a Tom Yum soup (which was huge) and a mushroom salad we had the rice noodle rolls. They are really conscious about the environment for they kindly ask to eat everything. We loved it so much!

Wonderfully tasty with a great owner/cook. - Edit
We had a great meal which was made even better due to the cook coming out and talking to us about vegansim. Although the restaurant is veg, she has now been vegan for several years. She even brought out a dish we didn’t order as she wanted to have us try it. By far the most standout dish is the mushroom salad. We came for dinner, about an hour before closing, but they do a larger menu buffet style in the morning and afternoon

Good message, good food - Edit
My trip was planned to go from Surat Thani airport to the Khao Sok rainforest, but I was hungry when I landed. There was no reliable veg food en route, so luckily Happy Cow came to the rescue. We had to drive 30 min out of the way, but it was worth it. I haven’t had too much trouble with veg food during my 10 days here, but sometimes it can be tricky.
Read moreThe owner was nice, the food was good, and the prices, like all of Thailand, were cheap. 60baht for 3 items and rice from the buffet. The English signs around were about being kind to the environment and the animals. By the way, the sign says it’s closed on Sundays, despite other reviewers saying it’s free on Sundays. Overall, a good find!

So good - Edit
Easy place to find if you follow the huge ‘vegetarian’ sign on the main road. The food was so so good. We got something that looked like a slice of aubergine which turned out to be the best seitan I’ve ever had. The fried taro is also incredible. Some things are on the spicy side. Staff don’t have much English but are really nice. Definitely recommend

LOCATION is incorrect, but close! Place is on a side street off Karunarat, about halfway between tachana and chonkasem road. Look for a yellow sign with black arrow pointing towards the side street, on south side of Karunarat.
Read moreAfter 4 months of traveling throughout thailand, this is in my top 5 tastiest restaurants. Point-n-choose Buddhist buffet style, 50 baht for rice and 3 choices. All I've had were top notch (various curries, laarb, pad kra pow, etc). Fav has to be a pumpkin pineapple yellow curry, wow, so good! Free ginger tea and soup, and sometimes really tasty little side dishes. The service is really great, too - very nice people running the place. Some veggies come from their garden.
Cannot rate highly enough! Be warned, the food is quite spicy, and the not spicy dishes are less exciting basic steamed / fried veggies.

Absolutely nice Thai veg experience - Edit
Althought it is pretty much the only vegetarian eatery in Surat Thani and not the easiest one to find, it is absolutely worth going and admiring. We arrived there when they we closing up already. They quickly re-opened the place for us and treated us with some delicious food: fresh garden-raised salad (there is a garden just by the side of the restaurant), exotic fruit juice, tasty curry; broth, dessert fruits (more and more!) plus delicious ginger tea free of charge. What we ordered was really cheap too, especially consisering the sevice and the quality). Loved it so much we went there again the next day.

Clean modern Vegetarian restaurant nicely decorated with art. English menu + buffet choices available (not all u can eat). We (a couple) ordered 2 dishes of brown rice+3 choices curry/veggies for 50baht. 2 dishes of papaya salad (delicious, generous portion, healthy) 50baht each. 1 plate summer rolls (stuffed with mung bean sproits , peanuts & other) with delicious dipping soy sauce (large plate 4 rolls) 50baht. Free of charge, They brought us 4 small bowls of broth soup, a plate of mixed local raw greens (Thai isan style), a plate of cooked banana leaves in coconut cream sauce (my favorite dish here of the meal) and some pickled vegetables. Many more options we didn't try. Rice was delicious. We were very full for 250baht. As were were leaving they helped us flag down a songtheow truck to return to the train station (about 24mins away at rush hour 200 baht for 2 people).
