Unfriendly, rude staff

I visited this place for the first time last week. However, I was extremely disappointed, mainly because of the terrible service. Our waiter was extremely rude, not even looking at us when he brought our food over. He was acting as though he was going out of his way to serve us. It was a Monday night and not too busy, and his friends were sitting at the table behind us. He was more interested in them and it took a lot to try to get his attention. They brought our bill to us before we’d even asked for it or finished our dessert and it seemed like they were trying to get us away as quickly as possible. We asked if we could have a tea and they brought us some but it was half filled with hot water. When we asked for the bill again and paid they gave us our wrong change. We were fed up by this point so instead of telling them they had short changed us, we just left. The food itself was nothing special and was expensive for what it was.
I was excited to try this place but was extremely disappointed and will definitely not be back.

Pros: Vegetarian food

Cons: Expensive, Rude waiters

curioso

Amazing plant-based food with lots of vegan options

I have visited Superchulo several times in the last six months, typically when I can't get a table elsewhere. Superchulo is always my backup, but it almost always ends up being better than the original plan.

The restaurant is modern and clean and extends downstairs and around several corners.

The restaurant is entirely vegetarian (fake meats but real cheese) with lots of vegan options. Every item on the menu tells you what allergens it contains (soy, lactose, sulfites, etc.). Each item also tells you if it's possible to make it vegan - for example, if you want the veggie burger to be vegan, then it tells you just to ask for it without cheese.

The menu is constantly changing with the season. I love that their salads are bowls of various vegetables, legumes, and grains and not simply lettuce and tomato.

I most recently ordered a winter buddha bowl - the pop-eye with a garlic vegan alioli, roasted asparagus, greens, over a huge bed of black quinoa. I ordered it with tofu and roasted sweet potatoes (all for 10.50). The asparagus was a little oily but the flavors were excellent and the alioli is the best alioli I've ever had anywhere! It was a huge quantity and I took the leftovers to work for lunch the next day.

I have visited with friends and they have ordered the flower power pizza (vegan), barbacoa pizza (vegan) and another vegan winter buddha bowl - the pink one with beetroot and rice, the pad thai, and a tofu burger from their daily menu.

I've previously had the green bao buns. They are phenomenal. I love sticky buns. There are only two but they are quite large and extremely filling. Another super filling and delicious item on their menu is the mini pizzas.

I've also had one of their large salad bowls with falafel. The salad was excellent, however, I found the falafel almost inedible. It was too dense and dry. I can't recommend any get the falafel here. It was served with their homemade crackers which are phenomenal.

Unfortunately, there are not many vegan desserts to choose from. However, I am usually too full from my meal to want dessert anyway, so it is no problem for me. The service can be a little slow, but that is typical in Spain.

In short, I can confidently recommend this place to vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores. The atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful, the menu is excellent, and the prices are fair (a little on the high side) and affordable. Definitely worth more than one visit.

Pros: Lots of space and typically don't need to reserve, Lots of vegan options, The vegan alioli!!!

Cons: Dense and dry falafel, Not 100% vegan

Fancy vegan

I love it, everything I tried has been very tasty. Better to reserve in advance, specially on weekends. Luckily, this can be done via their website.

OK

A new vegetarian restaurant (or a bar? The portions are relatively small) in the hipster district Malasaña. The decoration is nice, the staff is nice but the food is nothing special. Some burgers, some salad and thats all. It is good to spent a moment with friends but maybe it is not elegant enough to have a fancy dinner. I don't know.. I expected something more from this place.

Pros: decoration

Cons: small portions

top

Pros: calidad, variedad, servicio, atmosfera.

Cons: nada.

EXCELENTE
