The Last Samurai

SUPA is the last samurai of the healthy, conscious eating in Varna. Surviving the deep fried, pizza sliced and pseudo-sushi rolled massacre of the Black sea gem, SUPA ripples around the calmness of delivered taste perfection.
With their name Bulgarian for "soup", they offer more than just that, including a daily menu and desserts. Vegan in their soul, they have the only combat scar of moral compromise to offer some vegetarian dishes.
Every bite we tried was amazing and worth coming back down to the train station where our heavy backpacks day had started.
Sadly, we won't be able to check them again as we leave, as they take a well deserved break on the weekends.
For sure The Place to eat in Varna now that all the other veg* warriors are but just a fragrant memory ...

Pros: Food, Staff, Location and sitting outside

Cons: Closed on weekend (but hey - they need a brake)

Great place

June 2024 , seems this is the last vegan/vegetarian place to find in Varna at this time and still in business. All others are closed. I consider myself lucky and enjoyed this place a lot. caulliflower soup delicious , rice with chickpeas and sauce , nice salad with avocado and seeds. , and a sourdough bread with cashew cheese and salad. I would say a big success This place had nice seatings , and is a few minutes walk from the busy centre streets. Recommended. But Varna needs more vegan restaurants !

Friendly staff, dry bread

Every time I walk in there I’m greeted by a very friendly woman (I’m assuming it’s the owner) and she is always more than happy to translate and explain everything in English. She seems to really be aware of what vegan means, even though nothing is clearly marked vegan. I tried a soup once with was yummy, although nothing special, I also had a salad another time which was good. I tried a sandwich too at another occasion, the filling was very delicious and quite unusual which I enjoyed, my only complaint is the bread, I’m not sure if it’s bought or homemade, but it’s incredibly hard and dry and it feels like you need a lot of water to get it down. I’ve experienced this twice, once when I got bread with the soup, another time when I got a sandwich. That’s a real bummer. Prices are okay, I think it was 6 leva for a salad and 7 leva for a sandwich. The atmosphere is nice, both to sit inside and outside. I would recommend it if you’re in the area and want to grab a quick vegan bite.

Great place, amazing food

I have been to this place three times and decided to write a short review, as it seems that it is new and doesn't have a lot of reviews.

The good: Food is amazing and by far one of the best in terms of quality and taste in Varna.

They seem to be changing the menu of the soups daily, so every day you get a new soup or a variation of a previous soup you had there.

They also seem to be doing a lot of the stuff themselves and veganizing a lot of local bulgarian soups like shkembe and tarator using homemade milk and yoghurt, homemade mozzarella etc.
Owners welcome you and are very friendly and explain everything in English.

The place is cozy - not too big, not too small. Most of the dishes are vegan, the rest vegetarian.

So far, nothing to complain about - prices are reasonable for Varna.

Since I work close by I will definitely come here more often and I will have to try their deserts too . Worth the visit!

Pros: Food is delicious , Nicely decorated, very cozy, Mostly vegan food

Cons: Nothing to complain about so far

Perfect lunch spot

What a find!!! Worth travelling for some delicious food at lunch time.

The kind staff translated the full menu into English for us.

A chalk board menu, of changing food, but when we went they had lots of vegan options- all their soups were vegan! Including some traditional Bulgarian offerings.

We also had the chickpea salad which was fresh and healthy, with good flavours as well.

Inspired me to make more soup!
They also had some tasty looking sandwiches.

Pros: Such tasty soup, Kind and friendly staff, Good vegan options

Cons: A bit far from the centre , Only open at lunchtime, Would love dinner here!
