Taitung Vegetarian/Taitung Old House Coffee. Café serving fusion cuisine and pastries with regularly changing menu, some of which are vegan and others that could possibly be made vegan. Different set menus, mostly including a main, rice, soup and fruits. Also sells small handcrafted items like soap. Open Mon-Wed 11:00am-2:30pm, 5:30pm-8:30pm, Fri-Sun 11:00am-2:30pm, 5:30pm-8:30pm. Closed Thu.

Cute restaurant

This is a cute little restaurant tucked down an alleyway.
I've visited a couple of times and enjoyed dining here on both occasions. On the first visit I had the rice burger with salad and roast vegetables, the patty used was a mock-meat alternative that tasted too much like the real thing for my liking, but this is a personal preference. On the second visit I had a set meal of seasonal vegetables and tofu in a spicy soup, which was quite nice.
The interior had good vibes and staff were nice.
One thing to note is that it can get a bit noisy if it is full, as it is a small place that reverberates the sound.
I also wish that they had more vegan options.
The menu is Chinese only, so you'll need to translate it if you can't read Chinese.

Good food, nice vibe, and a very sweet owner

Came here after a long bike ride from Pingtung, unfortunately some of the items originally wanted to order were sold out / not vegan, so the owner directly said he would give me 1.5-2x the portion size of my curry set, and I could even get more if I still wanted more - and he didn't even charge me for it! Also had a kombucha which, while a small glass, tasted very well.
