I’ve gone here with my family a few times for birthday dinners and such, so glad to have it! Very nice to have the Mediterranean choices instead of standard veg burger.

Plenty of vegan options - Edit
Pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant outside of Baltimore. They had a whole vegan menu with some great choices above the typical Beyond burger option. Got the chick’n hero with sweet potato fries. It was really delicious and filling. They also offer a vegan brunch.

The food is very good. There is a vegan/vegetarian section on the menu. Had the vegan skillet and it was wonderful!

Vegan food that’s confused - Edit
A good place with vegan section and option on menu. Other selections are indicated as vegan or vegetarian or gluten free. Problem is that many vegan options not in vegan section contain cheese. Feta is not vegan people!
Read moreI got the Smokey grilled portobello wrap that was tasty. It had spinach and a hummus tahini spread. Issue was that wrap was buttered and grilled. This was not indicated on menu. So misunderstood…….

Thank you for this thoughtful review. The Sunshine Grille has some items that are specifically vegan while others can be adapted to vegans. For example we sell a cheesesteak hoagie (vg). The "vg" symbol means that the item can be adapted for vegans and it is not a vegan item per se. The challenge is having properly trained wait staff who understand our menu options, are informed enough to ask clients relevant questions and finally translate that information to our POS system. It's doable but not easy which is why I think most restaurants keep to on side of the fence or the other. This does not excuse our mistake. I just want to explain that we have been servicing vegans in our catering business for the past 8 years and we do understand that the vegan diet excludes all food derived from animals.
Read moreA further complication is the labor shortage where we are forced to hire and engage servers who aren't trained and are therefore learning as they go. This is not desirable but necessary in the current circumstances. I am not sure what happened in your situation, but if you give us another shot ask for Irene, Bill or Effie and we will make sure that you get what you need.

I can appreciate the challenges that are faced in today’s reality. I am always clear as to my desires. I guess I need to assume that wait staff is NOT trained and explain my desires and needs more completely. It does get old not only for me but for those who who are not Vegan.

Awesome Vegan Options - Edit
I’m so glad I tried this place. The waitress told us that they have recently expanded their vegan options, and I’m so glad they did. There were many options and they will make substitutions with tofu or mock meats in many of their non vegan dishes. The staff was beyond welcoming and the food we had was amazing! I had the sriracha chick’un hoagie and sweet potato fries. It was so delicious! I will definitely be going here again. I love supporting local restaurants and this one is tops!

What a surprise!?! - Edit
A friend recently mentioned that they had added a vegan menu and I couldn’t believe it! We went last week and were not disappointed! Several options available. I ordered the veggie skillet with mushroom bacon and it was AMAZING! The staff was super helpful as well - this isn’t just a restaurant that tossed a few vegan items on the menu to be like the cool kids...I truly think they understand what it means, appreciate cross contamination etc. Going again this weekend! Would give 5 stars but can only give 4 since they aren’t exclusively vegan. Thanks Sunshine Grille!!
