Delightful Food and Service Out of Town Centre - Edit
Lovely Saturday lunch - cauliflower dahl but spoilt for choice, with a turmeric based kombucha to wash it down. Friendly and fun staff and a good family and friends atmosphere. Will be going back.

A great place for brunch - Edit
Sunrays is a great place for a relaxing brunch. It's away from the old town in a quiet residential area but well worth the detour. There are a number of vegan brunch options including a vegan shaksuka, a veggie pancake and breakfast pizza! I tried the shaksuka, which came with falafel instead of the traditional baked eggs, and it was very tasty. Nice coffee and fresh juices too. Recommended.

The dessert though, a mango cheesecake, was awful! It was not a cheesecake at all but just some mango sorbet (it was served completely frozen) layered on some cereal crust... So disappointing!

We enjoyed the place and its friendly vibe. The food had a very good taste and carefully prepared. However, for the kids, we ordered kids menu with a vegan wrap but it came with a non vegan mayo, which we only found out because we actually asked twice. They promptly replaced it but a special attention to these details are important.

Sunrays is run by a chef and you can taste it. The vegan/vegetarian lunch menu is as big as the meat section (if not bigger) and the food is well thought through and absolutely delicious. I have pretty much had every vegan dish there and even the ones that I thought could let me down (kimchi-cashew pâté on rye!) I have loved and ordered time and time again. The vegan kofta and the African peanut stew: yum! If you happen to arrive before the lunch menu starts, the savoury breakfast pancake is a good one. Only three vegan dessert options, but if you splurge on the banana-peanut semifreddo, you won’t regret it.

I’ve been to Sunrays on 3 occasions now, it never disappoints! The outdoor seating is a very pleasant environment and the staff are friendly. I’ve enjoyed lunch there on all 3 occasions and it is always delicious! I’ve also tried a few of the desserts. The food is always filling and very fresh. I’ll be going back again and again!

Read moreI had a sourdough with baked beans and it was Fire. Their juices are incredible. My friends told me that the non-vegan dishes are pretty good as well, so perfect if you with someone who hasnt changed yet 😉

Read moreRachael is really working & tweaking her menu. It’s much more vegan friendly on my most recent visit.
It’s a sign of a true entrepreneur/chef when the menu/offer reacts to positive & negative criticism.
It’s getting better all the time and Rachael has a great Design eye too, frequent little changes and pieces being added to the property.
Any updates will put on here as it’s really close to my house.

No laptops even if you are eating lunch - Edit
So despite the fact there are no signs saying this anywhere or on the menu, apparently the cafe doesn’t let people work while they are waiting for their food. There was literally NO other customers inside (everyone was outside) so nobody was even being disturbed. Sorry, but I won’t be coming again, and would have left if it wasn’t for the fact I was in a rush and it’s far from any other options.

I like the no laptop policy. What people don’t realise is that these businesses need to turn over tables. They can’t afford to act as free mobile office space for people who are trying to keep their working costs down. I’ve seen this in small coffee shops in town where entitled digital nomads take up 10% of the table space for 3 hours and spend a grand total of €7. Pay your way.

I have had the pleasure of eating at Sunrays twice for lunch. Lots of both vegatarian and vegan options and the food is delicious! Nice size portions, reasonably priced. I've tried the falafel wrap and the walnut and sundried tomato pate sandwich. The food is fresh, the service is good. The restaurant is very quaint and easy to find. I'll definitely be going back again very soon. 😋❤❤

Se encuentra situado en una plaza muy tranquila. La terraza está decorada muy bonita y es muy acogedora. Hay platos veganos y vegetarianos. Nosotros pedimos una ensalada y un falafel bowl, los dos muy buenos. También pedimos la carrot cake y nos flipó. Tenéis que probarla. Ademas el café muy bueno y barato.
