Vegan cafe with plenty of choices. Owner works with a local farmer so the items available may differ depending on the supplies received for the day. Trains and employs First Nation Australians to work in the cafe and gives free meals to the homeless. Works on a 'pay as you feel' for the food served. Formerly served fish but became fully vegan. Reported closed December 2023.

Weird experience

Only giving 2* as I can't give 1*. It's a very weird experience here. When I went they claimed to be fully vegan but had fish on the menu. Was told, quite aggressively, by the owner that everything was vegan. I think the fish would beg to differ. The food was not nice at all. Wouldn't go back.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Weird. Aggressive owner, Not fully vegan despite their claims

Two stars because we didn't have to pay for one meal.

It's a shame to have to write this review, but my partner and I visited this Cafe tonight and unfortunately there weren't many redeeming qualities about the food or the service we received. I ordered the haloumi burger, which seemed to be raw haloumi broken up and put into burger patty which I was only able to eat half of due to the poor taste. The slaw on top was just grated apple and too much mayonnaise. My partner ordered the curry, which had a few different types of vegetables in it. All the vegetables were hard and raw, some pieces almost completely raw, the sauce was not flavoursome and the naan was wrapped up like it had been sitting for a long time before being served. We also ordered sweet potato fries which came out hard in the centre, we asked them to take it back and when we got them a second time there were less on the plate and some were still not cooked properly. When we made a complaint, the owner came out and tried to explain that the vegetables are supposed to be cooked that way and that they're organic, but we have never had a curry with raw vegetables before. He initially wouldn't offer us a refund and tried to pretend it was not an issue. When we went to the counter he eventually gave us a refund for one meal, but basically told us we were wrong about the vegetables in the curry. Even though the cost of the curry was taken off, the total still came to $44 which is way too expensive for what we ordered.

Cons: Expensive, Raw vegetables, Poor flavour

Cafe

From farm to table .. this cafe is on the part of sustainable culture . It’s says vegetarian but the owner mentioned he is changing to vegan soon.
The food is delicious . The menu is a fusion/collection of vegan / vegetarian food from few cultures (Japanese, Indian , Spanish , Chinese etc ).

Pros: A lot of vegan choices , Menu is not fixed to any culture food

Cons: Not completely vegan
