Great Vegan Nom Any Time of Day

They do veggie and vegan but how I wish this place were 100% vegan. There are so many lovely choices here for vegans and it would be easy to go the whole (plant-based) hog. I hope they take the plunge one day.

Pros: Lovely choices for vegans, Cheery staff, Good food

Cons: I asked for soya but they served dairy as default

Great vegan options

Dropped in for tea and cake. The two cakes left (I believe there had been more earlier) were both vegan. Had the raspberry vanilla Sponge and it was delicious.

Pros: The cake

Cons: The server brought dairy milk (we requested soya)

OK cafe

After reading the rave reviews, we went there for lunch on my birthday a few months ago. Maybe we went on a bad day, but the experience was not like what I'd read about. I found the atmosphere awkward, there was no music, nothing at all, it was very quiet. I like quiet but this was almost too quiet. The cafe was not really welcoming at all. Staff were efficient but not warm or friendly. The food was good but nothing outstanding. I won't be rushing back there unfortunately.

Pros: Efficient service, Food was nice

Cons: Atmosphere was unwelcoming, weird vibe, Staff weren't welcoming

Great food and a relaxed atmosphere

First visit today and it was warm enough to sit outside on a pedestrianised street between the cafe and a small park. We had the vegan sausage, mushroom & spinach toasties, which were excellent. For £6 you could get a hot drink and a toasty, so we had coffees too. I asked for strong coffees and one was, but the other wasn't. The person serving offered to make another, which was strong. We were impressed by her considerate and friendly manner. The toilet was clean and all the staff were very welcoming.
We will definitely be returning.

A Vegan Oasis - best cafe in Devon!!!

Menu now completely vegan with a variety of gluten free options too. Baked goods, sandwiches, full meals - always good whatever I’ve ordered. Delicious cakes too. And their decaf coffee is lovely. Must visit for vegans in this area or if you’re on holiday in E Devon

Excellent cafe

Food is really good, everything's vegan (as far as I know) unless you ask for dairy milk or dairy cheese. This means you can go there with people who won't go to 100% vegan eateries. All the cakes are vegan.

Music is better than most places, and not too loud or too quiet. I also like the lighting, not too bright and not too dark. The cafe is very nicely decorated as well, with paintings and stained glass. Staff are friendly and approachable, as are most of the customers.

There is also outdoor seating, which makes social distancing easier, and also frees up space inside (it's small but not squashed).

Pros: Excellent food, all vegan unless you ask for dairy, toilet ungendered & accessible, free water refills, friendly staff

Cons: Noisy if you sit by the kitchen, although that's not Sundowners' fault

A friendly cafe with a number of vegan options.

The proprietor of this cafe is a vegan and so she understands the vegan philosophy. We have found the place to be friendly with a pleasant atmosphere and a proprietor who is keen to offer tasty and interesting vegan food. A very useful addition to Exmouth's eateries. Now fully vegan!

Delicious and cozy

The place was cozy and homey, dog and kid friendly. The food was delicious. It was so difficult to choose what to have, especially from the cakes! They had dairy milk available for coffee, but I think all he food was vegan (at least that day, they have daily specials so I’m not sure if it’s all vegan all the time). It had just started to rain, so I was glad to be able to get a table inside and had some tomato basil soup with bread, followed up by a vegan pecan “cheesecake” and an oat milk latte.

Pros: Almost entirely vegan, Reasonable prices, Nice people and atmosphere

Great food, good price

During semi lockdown so service at a hatch. Four non dairy milks available and a number of vegan cakes and light breakfasts.
I had a tofu, tomato, hash brown, spinach toasty and a cappuccino for incredible price of £5. Amazing and very tasty. Also took away a vegan cheesecake which is unusual to see on a menu in my experience and that was lovely too. Quick service and friendly staff

Pros: Exceptional value, Some novel offerings, Lovely pavement seating

The best!

I was on a long cycle and needed to rejuvenate. Looked on Happy Cow and found Sundowners. Their food is pure awesomeness! Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. I was super happy to hear all the food was vegan as listed as vegetarian on the app. I had a vegan chicken and bacon panini stuffed with amazing veg and mayo followed by a fruity pecan flapjack. I can't stress how nice the food is. Next time I'm in Exmouth I'll be back for more! The bar has been set high after this visit.

Pros: Delicious food and reasonably priced

Cons: None!

Beat vegan breakfast in Exmouth!

We had such a delicious vegan breakfast here and the staff were so so friendly! The large breakfast includes scrambled tofu, sausages, beans, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, toast, a hash brown and smashed avo. Honestly incredible! They also have a delicious range of vegan cakes.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , No extra charge for plant-based milk!, Really lovely staff
