A must stop in LA - Edit
You really feel like you’re at a restaurant that someone would have their rehearsal dinner.
Read moreThe menu is so varied and everyone can find something they will love. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
The quesadilla and baked lasagna are fabulous. The waffles are another hit. The nachos cannot be skipped, they are mandatory.
Wish they still served the bagels and lox!
The BBQ cauliflower is a bit more raw than anticipated and spicy.
I wish they wouldn’t serve Beyond Meat, I know they could make something amazing homemade. Glad they don’t serve Impossible.
Pros: Varied menu, Breakfast all day, Beautiful outdoor seating
Cons: Serves Beyond Meat (unethical), Many GF options are spicy

Long Awaited - Edit
Got the omelet with mash 🥔. Tasted good though not sure which, left a pain in gut. Could had been the filter water. Never know about these things. Likely not to revisit. Heard about the rawness of Sun Cafe - thinking sunfoods. Find nothing creative about using beyond meat and violife on the menu with such high price points. A place for transitioning to the vegjungle. Has a patio country feel with ambience. Left tip, yet never got my coin change from purchase and no receipt.

Love, love, love Sun Cafe - Edit
Been going here for many years. Always creative, delicious dishes. Raw mushroom soup is terrific. Lettuce tacos are a treat. Sweet Kale Shake? Oh yeah. Everything is tasty and good. Best in the area. Plus they do cooking classes!

Voted BEST ambiance in the valley - Edit
Love this place. I've been coming to Sun Cafe since its beginning days as Sun Power Cafe in its tiny space down the street. Over the years it has grown to anew big space with beautiful outdoor sitting...as well as in door dinning room. The food is always good. Tip. Though always get the raw nachos with jicama. Update: their Reuben is excellent.

Delicious Food, Great Ambiance - Edit
Sun Cafe is an LA classic. The outdoor area is cosy by day, and hip at night. Sitting around the fire is a treat. This time, I sat indoors, as it was chilly outside. The indoor area is rustic meets modern decor. I started off with a Caesar's salad. The salad is easily enough for two people. Wonderful flavors. The vegan lasagna is creamy and hearty and is a great entree choice if you are hungry. Attentive service, and an excellent waiting staff

Not your standard comfort food - Edit
I read through a few reviews and would have to agree some menu items aren't great. That being said
Read moreBiscuits and Gravy! That menu item keeps me coming back. If you are looking for vegan junk food, don't stop here, (head over to Vegan Exchange on Sundays to get that fix) everything on the menu is geared towards the health conscious person. Read menu descriptions and ASK questions before ordering.
Pros: Biscuits and Gravy, Smoothies

Great patio, great food - Edit
I went with a group and tried several dishes. The mushroom truffle pizza was delicious, as well as their green juice. I would recommend the mashed potatoes, their beyond burger (it’s a mixed patti), and the tempeh in the melt sandwich is light and delicious.

Good...? - Edit
The prices are definitely too high for the food you get. I will say the NACHOS, mud pie, lettuce leaf tacos, and a few other items are worth it. But every time I try something new, I'm disappointed.
Read moreThe patio is beautiful. The staff is nice.
I'm still questioning the prices though ..is it the rent? Across the street is an entire homeless encampment. It's a very weird area. Parking is not fun.
If you are in the valley and need food, I'd go for it, but don't go out of your way for it.
Pros: 100% vegan & organic
Cons: Expensive

I’ve eaten here over 8 times and it’s shockingly inconsistent and the food just isn’t great. Especially for the price. Not a big fan of the staff either especially when it comes to seating.

Nice - Edit
Very expensive but it's really nice! I had the lettuce tacos and shamrock shake. I would def go back for those tacos😋 it's a starter not an entree so maybe get something else with them. Excited to try the pizza or something one day!
