My wife and I are in Panama City for a month and in searching out vegan options, Sukhi appeared. It's a short walk from where we were staying in the financial district and after seeing the reviews and menu, we had to check it out. Our server was Angel and he immediately pointed us to some vegan options so we chose the crystal rolls, crispy veggies and yellow curry. We order several item to share and get one of each so we can experience different flavors.
The crystal rolls were filled with a nice selection of veggies and came with a tasty peanut sauce. Next came the crispy veggies that was a tempura of broccoli, green peppers, onion and carrot that were not greasy, came with a ponzu style sauce, lime wedges and surprised us with the large serving size. The third dish was the yellow curry that is somewhat mild but very flavorful with a slight bite on the end, assorted vegetables, small cubes of fried tofu that are not breaded but flashed just long enough to turn them golden and a serving of rice that was just the right size.
The atmosphere is hip with a cool music mix, the staff are fun and friendly, the prices are very reasonable (we saw a review where someone thought it was pricey …not!) and all the food was absolutely fresh and full of flavor.
We will absolutely be back.
(next time, pumpkin soup with coconut milk as Angel suggested)
English speaking staff. Cosy place where service was fast. Free water on arrival. Would come back here. I had the yellow curry with fried tofu and it was amazing . I highly recommend. There is a veggie option which always makes it easier
Food was average, atmosphere and staff were average too. Lady who served us didn’t speak english, (so we used translator, which is not a big deal)and didn’t have an idea what vegan food is. I would say it’s a bit expensive, considering it’s Panama and atmosphere and interior a bit like a fast food restaurant... My boyfriend had a Tom Yum ( he is pescatarian, not impressed with the taste) and I had a pumpkin soup(really good), we also had a yellow curry to share (very average both aesthetics and taste), we paid $32 without drinks, what I would consider as expensive in Panama.
Had vegetarian (vegan) summer rolls with a peanut dipping sauce, really good starter. Also had a yellow curry with tofu which was lovely. All curries had the option for tofu however staff told me the yellow curry was the only completely veggie one as other contained fish sauce (seemed knowledgeable on the menu).
Was a section on the menu specifically listing some of the dishes that were veggie.
Mango and sticky rice seemed like a vegan dessert option however I didn't have this to clarify
