The best restaurant in Glasgow, vegan or otherwise!

I’m not vegan but my husband is and this is by far our favourite place in Glasgow. The staff are amazing. The food is incredible. It’s such a cute venue and an amazing atmosphere. I dream of the curry laksa constantly. We have made it a bit of a family tradition to go here on Christmas Eve for the amazing salt and chilli Brussel sprouts (I look forward to them all year!) even if you’re not a vegan, do yourself a favour and run, don’t walk, to Suissi

Pros: The staff (super friendly and lovely people), The curry laksa (and everything else on the menu!), Location (we are lucky to have this in the west!)

Great little place!

My husband and I visited on a Saturday evening and had a lovely meal. We had the wontons and spring rolls to start - each came with sweet chilli sauce. He had the sweet and sour mushrooms which were really tasty and I had the curry laska with ramen noodles. The noodles were so silky and tasty. The laska was pretty spicy which was a challenge for me but it was really tasty. We also had the best salad and chilli chips we've ever eaten. There was a dessert menu on offer with things like pancakes, fritters and ice cream which wasn't on the main menu online.

Pros: Crispy wontons were amazing , Great value for money, Friendly staff

Always perfect

I’ve been coming to Suissi for a few years and they’re always perfect! The staff is very welcoming, and the food is always delicious. I’ve tried most of the menu and nothing has disappointed me yet. My absolute favourite is the Lion’s Mane Rendang. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Fair prices, Everything is delicious

Delicious

Incredible food that looked so good I forgot to take pictures of it. From the starter (spring rolls) to the main course (crispy noodles) and the dessert (banana pancake), everything tasted incredible. I was a bit confused how to eat the crispy noodles at first, because they were very crispy indeed, almost like a packet of dry instant noodles, but once I figured out I could just turn it over and then the harder noodles were sitting in a puddle of broth and the softer ones were accessible it was a lot easier to eat and tasted very delicious. The banana pancake with crunchy lotus biscoff creme was sooo good.

The staff were very friendly and it had a great vibe. The prices were reasonable too.

Pros: Delicious food, great, friendly staff, reasonable price

Dishes you can't get anywhere else

Really innovative menu and use of mushrooms in particular (plenty non mushroom dishes too).
If you want to have the option of some more unusual dishes, but also lots of simple classics like pad Thai, then this is perfect.
Standard of food is very high and consistent - I've eaten here 6 times

Pros: Queer-friendly, Vegan delivery bike service!, Tasty desserts

Our very favourite restaurant in the world!

Suissi is our local regular Chinese - lucky us! - and we go every week for our Friday night noodle take outs and eat in when we have something to celebrate. The restaurant is lovely, the staff are all stars and the cocktails are fab … and the food, oh my, the food!

Everything noodley on the menu is awesome, but as a family we particularly recommend the Cantonese Crispy Noodles and the Vermicelli in Tsing Tong broth. Yum! The tempeh and lotus root crisps are amazing, my daughter adores the gyoza, my son loves the tofu parcels. I swing between the lettuce wraps and the lotus root with pickled black bean… it’s just all so good!

Honestly, this was the food that helped us survive a pandemic. You need it in your life!!! 💚

The best vegan place in Glasgow as of April 2023

I have been to Suissi several times, both before and after the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is always a delight. The menu is very varied and imaginative, and everything I have tried there has been deliciously flavoured and well presented. Portion sizes are good, and prices are very reasonable. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and the food comes quickly.

The location is very unassuming – this probably helps keep prices down – and the premises are slightly gloomy, due to the building being very long from the front windows to the back, but the atmosphere is nice and the environment pleasant all the same.

I would say that at present (May 2023) it is the best place for vegans to eat in Glasgow.

FIVE STARS

Vegan heaven, beautiful Asian dishes served in a warm and funky restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Every dish tastes amazing. Great selection of teas, beers and wines, and some fantastic cocktails too. Lovely decor and vibe, dim and twinkling with candles in the evening.

There are so many Asian dish favourites here that can be hard to find vegan, such as crispy fried wonton, Kung po (made with tofu), and many other classic dishes using mushrooms and tofu instead of meats. Wow truly a great place, very authentic dishes, a variety of Chinese, Malaysian and Thai classics. TOTAL LOVE for this place.

Pros: insanely delicious food, Super friendly staff, Lovely ambience

Good food, friendly service

All dishes we had were delicious. The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Very good price in general too. However, personally I felt there’s too much MSG, quite salty and oily. Still had a nice experience though.

Amazing flavours

Suissi Vegan Asian Kitchen is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Glasgow. The reviews on HappyCow did not disappoint. The food was so flavorful and nicely presented. Suissi Vegan Asian Kitchen is a restaurant that will remind you that great and delicious vegan food is always a possibility if you know where to go. To top is all of: our host was funny and nice, the food was delivered quite fast and the bill was more than decent.

Pros: Delicious food, Restaurant is bigger than I thought, Average prices

Reliable

The food here is always filling, tasty and seasoned! I've not been enough to order everything from the menu but I have tried a fair few dishes and they have all been exceptional.

The decor is a little basic but the staff are friendly and service is fast.

Vegan Asian Restaurant

🌱 Tofu Parcels
💰: £4.50
💭: the parcels were tasty and had a nice texture however we had allowed our food to come all at once and with all the other tasty food they went cold so I couldn't enjoy them to their full potential
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? No

🌱 Vegetable Spring Rolls
💰: £5.00
💭: these were a good size and crispy. they tasted unreal with the sweet chilli dip
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? 100% Yes

🌱 Vegetable Wonton
💰: £5.00
💭: very nice dish, little vegatable parcels with a crunchy batter that came with a nice chill sauce. my boyfriends favourite side
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

🌱 Ramen - Soya Miso
💰: £11.00
💭: was a smaller portion than you get in other ramen restraunts, which was perfect as it allowed me to enjoy the other sides. Great ramen as always and they make their own ramen noodles in house which was a big bonus
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

🌱 Szechuan Tofu
💰: £8.00
💭: this dish was so so full of flavours. i paired it with the rainbow fried rice which was excellent and helped to cool down my mouth. i would eat it again if i could handle the spice
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? No - too spicey for me

🌱 Salt & Chilli Chips
💰: £4.50
💭: these were so crispy like they had been double fried. mwah *french kiss. best salt and chilli chips i have tasted as of yet
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

🌱 Rainbow Fried Rice
💰: £4.50
💭: delicious! the vegetables throughout the rice (ie peas, sweetcorn, carrots) was tasty. i would just have a bowl of this on its own it was that good
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

🌱 Coconut Pancakes
💰: £5.00
💭: the ice cream is made in-house and was delicious! the pancakes themselves were very nice and very chewy
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

📝: service was fantastic! they explain the menu and give recommendations. they did recommend 3 starters for two people, which is good amount as long as you don’t get extra sides like we did. we would get two starters and one side to share next time. plus, we would ask for starters separate and not brought along with our mains #Veganuary

Amazing

We were lucky to get in as we hadn’t booked a table - someone else who made a reservation didn’t turn up so we were able to take their place and it’s very lucky we did. We had three starters and two mains between two at the server’s recommendation and everything was delicious - tofu parcels, wontons, tempeh bao, Cantonese crispy noodles and salt and chili tofu with rice. Highly recommended. I’d absolutely go again. #Veganuary

Pros: All vegan , Amazing food, Good service

Cons: Book a table or your might miss out
