Lunch - Edit
Several vegan options available. I chose soup of the day, butternut and red pepper which was very tasty. I will definitely come back to try something else on the menu. Cakes looked lovely but only the coconut slice was marked as vegan unfortunately.

Dog friendly, but disappointed with vegan options - Edit
We arranged to meet a friend for a vegan afternoon tea early afternoon, as we travelled through Scotland. I had researched dog and vegan friendly places and they ticked both boxes. There were loads of lovely looking cakes, scones etc, but absolutely nothing vegan, they had sold out of their only vegan cake option earlier in the day. It is so easy to keep some tasty vegan treats for a few days without risk of spoiling and no need to ever have nothing at all on offer for us. Never mind, I thought, I will just have a vegan chai latte or a vegan hot chocolate (I don't like coffee), but they had neither and the limited tea bag selection was uninspiring. I had nothing to eat or drink while our friend drank dairy milk coffee and felt too embarrassed to eat a cake in front of us. The dog was given a treat, so he felt welcome. They lost business and should not market themselves as vegan friendly and make no effort to stock basics such as vegan chai latte, vegan hot chocolate etc. It is not difficult to always have a few cakes, scones or cookies that are vegan friendly, that non vegans may also enjoy. They did have some vegan lunch on offer but that was not what we came for as it seemed to be marketed very much as a tea room.

Sunny day lunch - Edit
We popped in today with the kids and the dog. Lots of options, great service and friendly knowledgeable staff. Only real issue is that the vegan options could be made for kids but where all a tad fancy for kids. Persuaded them to make a vegan bacon sandwich for the boys mind but was charged £5 for each of them. Happy to go again with hubby and dog but maybe not with the kids. Definitely recommend though.

Vegan options get better and better - Edit
Every time we visit there are more vegan options on the menu. Today we could choose from 7 vegan options (which is very good for Dumfries & Galloway) including a vegan BLT, BBQ chickpeas and vegan mozzarella. They had a couple of vegan cake options on, and both were delicious, and they had a range of vegan hot chocolate flavours.
Read moreThe food is thoughtfully put together with exciting salads and tasty condiments. Would definitely recommend.
Pros: Imaginative vegan lunch options, Everything clearly labelled, Great cake!
Cons: Does offer meat options

Helpful - Edit
My last review spoke about staff who didn’t get vegan and were apprehensive about selling it.
Read moreToday I came here and had the opposite. I asked what vegan can you do and meme er of stag was really helpful. We sell meat but can make a sandwich vegan based on what you want. There wasn’t a huge choice but it was a refreshing attitude.
I had a falafel, hummus and salad sandwich which was great. It wasn’t cheap but I don’t care, it was worth it.
Pros: Staff, Fresh

Delish home made vegan burger - Edit
Small selection for vegans, burger is home made and delicious. On menu as veggie burger but brioche bun swapped with ciabatta to make vegan so let them know.

The first time I called in I was served by a friendly female who was vegan herself and had a wonderful vegan burger meal.
