Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Tasty - Edit
First food place we went to in Prague, luckily they served food until 10, and had an English menu. Have an amazing selection of food and drinks. And really pleased with the price. We had the ribs which were good, the schnitzels which I really enjoyed with the potato salad and some chips which were perfect, especially the garlic and tartar sauce dips. Really fast service, and attentive and kind staff. Love the ethics of the place. The whole vibe of the place was really good.

Good food, great ethics - Edit
As other reviews noticed it's a big hard to find, so keep an eye out for the sticker sign on the door.
Read moreWe ate the ribs, schnitzel and fried cheese. The first two were very good, with an above average imitation of the taste and texture of meat. The fried cheese was definitely the best of the three, with a meltiness hard to find in other places.
What truly makes this restaurant stand out is their social cause support, allowing you to pay forward a meal for a person in need.
Service was not the best, it was very hard to get their attention and we never got our water.
Pros: Tasty food, Supports a good social cause, Cheap
Cons: Service was not great

Cheap and delicious - Edit
Great vegan place on the map of Prague. The portions are very big and unexpensive, the food itself tastes great and is decently plated (nothing fancy, though). Background mission of the restaurant only makes it better. Will definitely visit back if I'm in the town again, as I've only tried the seitan kebab so far - very curious about the other dishes!

Okay food but terrible staff - Edit
I had the daily menu. The food was okay but nothing exceptionnal. I would have gone back there to try more dishes, but the staff was really not welcoming at first encounter and the face-tattooed-lady (nothing against tattoos but she's distinguishable) was rude to me by COMPLETELY ignoring me when I politely asked her if I could add the tip to the price because she'd already set the price on the credit card machine. She just went back to the room without any look, smile, thank you or goodbye to me. Can't believe I still gave the other waitress a big tip.

Nothing irks me more than crap service. Idc how good the food is; I can make good food at home. We pay for an experience and I don’t consent to paying for more stress in my day. So sad when we have to choose between supporting the movement and standing by our boundaries.

I go to Střecha quite often, when I want to eat some Czech junk food and drink beer. They have really good fried cheese (smažák). They offer few different beers as well. I really like the concept that they employ people who were homeless or in jail, who wouldn't otherwise be able to find a job.

Ottimo cibo a prezzi contenuti! Ideale per poter provare in versione vegana piatti della tradizione e non (abbiamo assaggiato anche il piatto kebab ed era squisito). Siamo tornati due volte durante il nostro soggiorno, ed entrambe le esperienze sono state positivissime!

A bit hard to find as there is no big sign outside, just small writing on the entrance glass door. It's between the U Flecku and the mini market. I love that it's a cooperative. Nice staff, nice atmosphere. There is a lunch menu and lot's of à la carte choices.

Best choice in Prague - Edit
This place is a must in Prague - wether you are vegan or not. The food is really good, you get big portions and the price is more than fair. I had the goulash - and if I would not be sure that this is a vegan restaurant, I would return it and not believe that this is vegan.

I had to double check the menu to see if all the food was vegan! Super affordable and great value with good portions. We got the Vietnamese brunch and schnitzels with potato salad, and even had a bit of leftovers.

An excelent place to taste unique vegan versions. I love the schnitzels and potato salad. Lunch menu is very affordable, although when I ordered soup, the amount of food was too big for my stomach, but they happily packed the uneaten part to take home!

Very nice place with great food for its price. Went here the first day on my trip to Prague, which was a bad decision, as a lot of other restaurants in Prague dissappointed after this one.

Tofu tofu tofu - Edit
We arrived hungry at 2200 and then they said the kitchen was closed at. No exception. Was kinda bummed out. We could order some bread with tofu in oil and some kind of “egg” salad. The bread was just white bread not so wow. Would love to try out the dishes they looked good. Chocolate cake was yummie.

Could have been better - Edit
This place is kinda easy to overlook since I saw no signs outside (please correct me if I'm wrong). Maybe I came at the wrong time, too (~1 pm), but my beer goulash that I ordered came lukewarm and my waiter, who was a very lovely guy nevertheless, forgot my drink, as the restaurant was fairly crowded. The goulash was still super delicious and savoury, the dumpling I found to be a little bit too dense and dry. When I asked about my forgotten drink after having cleaned my plate, staff apologised and gave it to me for free. I'd love to come back and give this place another chance.

Bottom line, a good restaurant visit with delicious food and friendly service. Although the atmosphere seemed a bit strange to me at the beginning, but that was probably a misperception. I would definitely come here again if I were in Prague.
