Decent vegan options, great ambiance

Tonight my wife and I tried a few vegan options on the menu: Kung Pao Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Bavarian Pretzel ( sans cheese), Crispy Firecracker Tofu, and a Mushroom Asada Taco (sans cheese, with avocado). The brussels sprouts were excellent and the pretzel was enjoyable. The mushroom taco was lacking flavor and was definitely saved by the avocado. The tofu dish was satisfactory. They also have an Impossible burger that can be made vegan. Overall I wouldn't seek Stone out for their vegan options. But if you happen to land there with friends or coworkers the vegan options will be ok.

Pros: Great brussels sprouts, Fun atmosphere, We saw a praying mantis

Unreliable Menu

If you’re looking for a full meal, this isn’t the best option. When I went (June 2022) they’d removed the Bombay burrito and instead had eggplant tacos as a veg option. They weren’t very filling or tasty. The brussel sprout appetizer was good but, again, not filling.

Fluctuating vegan options, outstanding beers

Bombay Burrito hit the spot during my most recent visit, which has since been replaced by Ratatouille Ravioli as the lone vegan option currently on the menu. That works for me, since the great beers are the main reason I come here.

New vegan tacos are great

They recently added two new vegetarian taco options, let them know you’re vegan and get without the white sauce. Food tastes great. But the menu changes a lot. So, double check before you go.

Not Recommended For Vegans If Hungry

Very Limited Vegan Options Here. Go for the atmosphere and beers. Check Barnivore or Vegaholic for drinks being vegan or not. 🥑🥑

No vegan options anymore

They changed their menu to include practically NO vegan options. No one wants to pay $18 for an impossible burger that has an egg bun and cheese on it.

great

Great food. Beautiful grounds to walk around in. Beer is just ok to me. Only complaints are a lot of the food is too spicy, and they should have more veg choices.

Great Vegan dishes and hugh selection of beer

We just needed an ice cold beer after a challenging mountain hike. And wow, we were pleasantly surprised we could get some yummy vegan eats. We split a VERY green salad with dried cherries and toasted almonds and this delicious vegan loaf with marinara, quinoa and grilled squash. Very impressed with the food quality and service.

Pros: Lots of veg/vegan options, Large beer and wine selection, Huge place with beer tasting/ tours, patio seating

Cons: Gigantic parking lot, $8 to valet, Service a bit slow

Beautiful Place, Not-so-Vegan-Friendly

I was given very few vegan menu possibilities by the server, one was an Asian sald, which was sparse. I hate eating salads when I go out to restaurants because I can make my own, almost always more satisfying, salads. The salad came delivered with a side of steak from the kitchen, who, the waitress said, thought maybe someone at the table would want it, because, you know, "It comes with it." Vinegar and oil dressing. I left hungry.
I don't have much more to say about that.
Wonderful, open-air, spacious restaurant and great gardens to lounge Roman-style & have a tasty frosty beverage.
Difficult to find location due to no signage.

tofu stir fry

Sent this dish back due to hair like fibers throughout bowl. Chef said it is ginger. I have not had ginger resemble hair whenever I use it in dishes. Also the dish was very oily and should be called Fried Rice because that is what it is.

Wide selection of Vegan friendly beers

My fiance and I came here with some friends for dinner. We started off with the Spud buds for an appetizer, the smoked porter BBQ sauce that it came with is very tasty. They sell their sauces in the gift shop. They had two Vegan options to choose from, one was the Temphe shepard's pie and the other was the Tasty tofu stir-fry. The Temphe shepards pie is very spicy and reminded me of Chorizo a little bit, but I liked it a lot. I loved the Tofu stir-fry though, the portion was large and had lots of fresh veggies. They have a great selection of Vegan friendly beers which is awesome, I ordered Avery white rascal and my fiance got Levitation ale. This place is a little pricey but the ambiance and service are well worth it.

Pros: Friendly staff, Some Veg options, Tasty beer

Cons: a little pricey

great brewery

While on business in Escondido, my colleague and I went to Stone Brewing to have a tour and dinner. We arrived just after 5pm and got tickets for the 6pm tour. The tours are first come, first serve. While we waited for the tour, we sat at the outdoor bar (there's an indoor one too) and enjoyed a pint. The gardens are lovely and tranquil. You'd never know it from the outside of the building what's inside. The tour itself was about 45 minutes and included free samples at the end. It was informative, funny and enjoyable. Afterwards, we had dinner and we were seated inside rather than on the patio as they were extremely busy. While the menu doesn't have many veg options, they are clearly marked and it is nice to be able to order at a brewery without asking 20 questions. I ordered the Spud Buds appetizer which is basically deep fried mashed potato balls in an Arrogant [censored] ale batter with a side of the smoked porter bbq sauce. Yummy! For my entree, I got the tempeh shepard's pie which was good, but a little heavily seasoned for my taste. Of course, I enjoyed more beer. My colleague ordered a salad and an arrogant [censored] brownie. She had a marvelous time and I highly recommend coming with other people. Also, the layout is fabulous. There's a store and the restaurant is both inside and outside. The space is open with lots of glass, both looking outside and at the brewing facility. I'd love to come back on an afternoon and enjoy lunch outside.

Pros: gorgeous decor and landscaping, great brewery tour, good vegan options

Cons: serves meat, dairy and eggs
