Serves meat, vegan options available. The STF's mountain station features the village's only restaurant. On their changing menu, you will find two different items for each course (including dessert), one of them being vegan or easily veganized. The staff is surprisingly aware of veganism, as is the chef, who uses some dairy alternatives by default to cater to many preferences and allergies at the same time. Mountain station is a 70-citizen village north of the Arctic circle. Please note that many businesses in Sweden are cashless. Open Mon-Sun 18:00-21:00.

Simple but good - Edit
For every meal they have a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian option. Water, coffee/ tea and biscuits are included in the lunch menu. One day I had the veggie burger with chips (150 SEK), the following day there was falafel and chips (110 SEK). Nice to eat some proper food in the middle of my trek, although I'd hoped for more fresh vegetables and less fast food. But hey, all good in the middle of nowhere.

One vegan dish for dinner - Edit
We couldn't get any vegan options for lunch except lettuce and tomato. For dinner there was a pasta and fungi dish for 265 sek. Too bad they put cream into the cauliflower soup for lunch.

How amazing... - Edit
... that this place caters so well to vegans. Not only was the staff knowledgeable and one of each course option vegan(izable), but the chef uses vegan ingredients a lot by default.
Read moreAnd to top it all off, the food was amazing. Of course, after a long hike, you'd probably eat cardboard, but this was far from it. Veggies grilled on point, a creative sugar-crusted grilled potato and a salad with a vegan yogurt dressing. There was even a vegan starter option (cold soup) and there was vegan butter for the bread as well. All amazing food.
Of course it's not cheap, but you'll get an amazing view out the window with the food.
