Lovely options but double check your order is vegan!

Myself and my partner went for a dinner and ordered the penne arrabbitta and the vegetale pizza, we specified both were vegan.
The pasta came and was lovely, however when the pizza arrived I immediately was suspicious about the cheese. I checked with the waiter who stated the cheese was definitely Violife, however it looked like dairy so I politely asked him to check with the chef who confirmed my fears that it was dairy.
Unfortunately my partner had already had a bite and was disappointed by the mistake. The staff was quick to remake it vegan and provide a complimentary glass of wine, and they were very apologetic with the mistake.
Still, the remake was lovely and the pasta came out perfectly, just be sure to be vigilant for mistakes.

Delicious food!

I’ve been to the Steps of Rome a few times for dinner and the food has always been lovely. I’ve had the vegetable risotto, the linguine Genovese (with the vegan pesto), the arabiatta, and the bruschetta which have all been delicious. The menu is very clearly labeled with V for vegetarian, and VV for vegan. I wish I could give 5 stars!
