Vegan lunch - Edit

We regularly go to Stefan's for the vegan lunch menu, which is really tasty, filling, and cheap. The two course menu usually includes a soup or salad and a main dish. Last time we had red lentil potato soup for entree and vegan salami with baby broccoli and polenta for main. We usually treat ourselves to a vegan doughnut for dessert - they are really good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the place also offers meat and dairy, which on a website called HappyCow needs to be considered in the overall rating.

Pros: tasty vegan lunch menu, cheap lunch, great doughnuts

Cons: also offers meat and dairy

not worth it - Edit

The first time we went there (it was a Saturday) we did not get a table for 2. The place was packed so we tried the next day. We found a table and were looking forward to eating there. Interior is cool, but the food isn't.
There are some vegetarian and vegan options, we ordered a vegan breakfast that consisted of 2 slices of bread with hummus, a tiny tiny smoothie (maybe 0,15 or 0,2 liters max) and a muesli with fruits and granola.
It cost more than 10 euros. The bread was disgusting (might have been from days before), the rest was ok...

For the breakfast, 2 cappuccinos with soy milk (their only milk option besides cow's milk) and a cake we paid more than 20 euros. Food was not good and way overpriced. This is just another hipster place and not worth the visit. Don't go there.

Cons: overpriced, bad food, small portions

cozy place - Edit

I liked the atmosphere a lot. It is a good place to spend some time. I ate a vegan Quiche and took some of the water that you can take for free.
The taste was fine.
They had no vegan sweets at all when I was there.

Pros: cozy, friendly staff

Cons: limited vegan options

very friendly - Edit

Unfortunatly they had no vegan lunch at the time we were there because of a "holiday pause". Still the vegan Foccacia is worth checking out. Also they use veggies from their own garden. They also offer some vegan austrian cookies and sometimes also vegan cake.

Pros: homemade, very friendly personel

Cons: not always vegan lunch

Not vegetarian - Edit

It was very disappointing and frustrating to discover, after making a substantial effort to get to Stephan's, that it is *not* vegetarian -- the best that can be said is that it has vegetarian and vegan options. As such, I am rating Stephan's with only two stars, without giving much consideration to the quality of the food or service, because, bottom line, a vegetarian restaurant is supposed to be vegetarian.

excellent cookies, helpful staff - Edit

I bought some rolls and vegan cookies to take away. They had a wide range of vegan cookies and it was hard to choose just two! They were delicious. Needless to say, I'll be up early to buy some more biscuits before my train leaves tomorrow.

Pros: cheap, selection of vegan cookies

Great little place - Edit

Lovely little cafe and bakery near the Markethall, just under the Basic Hotel. The two course set lunch every day is vegan, plus they have vegan quiche, soya drinks and some cake. pretty reasonable for Innsbruck - it's 7.5e for the set lunch or 9e with an organic elderflower or raspberry drink - we tried one of each. Lunch was either salad or soup (a really lovely tasty and fresh vegetable soup - I think chard might have been the main vegetable), a huge plate of homemade sourdough bread, and then a main of herby Provençal vegetable dish with rice. All very tasty and really fresh. We finished off with a soya cappuccino and a bit of chocolate coconut cake, which was huge. Great little spot, wasn't that busy and staff were really friendly. Great find for a nice quiet lunch.

Pros: Great little cafe , Excellent lunch, Friendly stAff

Cons: It only does lunch
