New owners (relatively new) great food!

I went to steam years ago with the previous owners and didn’t go back since it wasn’t great. But I read online that the owners changed so I gave it a try and it was one of the best Chinese food experiences I have had!
Some of my favorite dishes are: tofu lettuce wrap, scallion pancake, eggplant basil and tofu, baby bok choy with tofu skin and garlic string beans.

They have lots of other vegan dishes I haven’t tried yet like: sesame tofu, general tso tofu, mei fun, etc.

The service is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a great experience every time. I would happily recommend them.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had

My entire experience at Steam was a disaster. It started with them taking over 35 minutes to prepare my food, that would have been okay but they literally forgot every single thing I ordered and then delivered it all to the wrong table and passed it around to another table before figuring out it was my meal. As I sat there I saw them somehow do this to every other diners order as well. When my food did come out it was literally inedible, the tofu dish was a block of steamed silken tofu with what tasted like ketchup on top, nothing else and I paid $15 for that! The Dan Dan noodles my husband got were super oily and the flavors were not good, I never got my veg dumplings so after an hour we just decided to leave and go somewhere else for dinner.

I’m really not the type of person that usually posts a negative review but I honestly don’t understand how the restaurant is in business. Literally every customer in there was shaking their heads and several asked for refunds. I want to say it was a bad day for them but serving me a block of steamed silken tofu with ketchup tossed over it for $15 is irredeemable in my opinion. So unfortunately I won’t be back and I cannot recommend them.
