Way too expensive for what it is

$200 for a fairly limited buffet. Yes, you can eat as much as you like but for a quarter of the price I did far better at the nearby Xiang Lin SuShi Guan

Beautiful and Healthy.

This buffet restaurant is set in a very gorgeous and atmospheric building next to the St. Mary's Church. The food is fresh and healthy. It's mostly Chinese/Taiwanese style, with some western dishes too. The bread was delicious, as was the soup. They even have DIY blanched veggies.
It was well worth the 200 TWD price.
Some dishes contain eggs or dairy, check with staff beforehand if you are vegan.

Pros: Fresh and healthy options. Beautiful atmosphere.

Cons: Need to check with staff about non-vegan dishes.

If you're looking for fresh simple foods

Simple but delicious veggies, no more and no less.
I think the address on happy cow might be incorrect, if you can't find it try crossing the intersection and there it is 😊

St. Mary's Health Club, Taitung

I had dinner here tonight. I agree with much of what is said already. It's a serve yourself buffet. Cost was twd 200. One of the dishes contained egg.

I'm not sure if things have changed since the previous review. There's an area for taking dishes and cutlery to for after eating. There's different areas to separate plates, bowls and cutlery and also food and non food waste goes separately. There's no indication though that customers are expected to wash up.

The place is very nice and clean. It's a big building. I'm unsure as to whether or not this is a converted church building or if the building design has been made to make it have some sort of similarity to a church.

Pros: Vegan friendly, Decent value, Nice staff

A refreshing change

This place is a little jewel in Taidung. The people who run it definately make your health the number one priority, and therefore omit the MSG and grease that so many restaurants in Taiwan seem to throw into every dish. They have brown rice and you can eat as much as you want. For dinner you might have to order off a menu though, as they said the buffet was only for lunch. You even have to wash your own plate after you eat!

Pros: Healthy, filling, good value

Cons: Only a few dishes
