Interesting cafe!

This cafe is quite a place! I've been here quite a few times for coffee and cake and I really like the atmosphere. The staff are really international and they are extremely welcoming and friendly.

They serve quite a lot of they serve vegan and vegetarian options and the food is a mixture of different international dishes with a definite tendency towards British and American specialities.

They also run various events such as a weekly English-German exchange, and performances from various artists.

The prices are reasonable, there's plenty of seats outside and the area is quite nice too.

The only slight drawback is the limited vegan options. They often have one or two things, which is good, but it would be nice if they had more.

Pros: International vibe, Good coffee, Cool events

Cons: Not many vegan options

Aug 14: SHUT DOWN....June 2013:Fabulous place :)))

Aug 14: Went back and it is gone :( Replaced with a meat eating place and unsmiling staff :< Remove listing???

June 2013: I went because it was the closest veggie place to Mauerpark (Berlin wall park). The snack food we had was fabulous, fresh and tasty. Great selection, kid-friendly, fresh, tasty and very economical. Waiter was the friendliest I've seen with a genuine concern for us having an enjoyable lunch!

cosy cafe with vegan options

Cosy cafe with friendly staff and vegan breakfast options with a British theme. The sweet rice pudding was excellent, the mock scrambled eggs with tofu and vegetables and salad also delicious. Reasonable prices, outdoor seating and apparently concerts and language exchange options.

Pros: vegan otions, yummy, affordable

Great for English-speaking people

A very relaxed, friendly atmosphere, some vegan drink selections, but as far as I know, no pastries that are vegan. They have a German-English language exchange twice a week that's lively, fun and a good way to improve your skills as well as meet others trying to learn either language.

Great Berlin's Café!

Their menu is always growing. I'm very fond of the cakes (with a very special mention to the heavenly carrot cake: confort-food feel guaranteed). But it's also very hard to resist the lunch dishes when seeing them through the window display! Oh and their new evening menu, completetely vegan, are absolutely delicious. The coleslaw is particularly memorable!!! However, a new breeze to the breakfast menus could be nice. The baked beans and croissant with cheddar are very nice, but none of the breakfast menus are vegan. It would be nice to have that kind of option :)

Out of that, the atmosphere is genuine and cosy. There is always stuff going on: language exchanges, music nights, exhibitions, yoga, etc.

The way it's decorated and managed makes one feels home and come over and over again: just like a second living room!

Pros: tasty and healthy food, friendliness of the staff, lots of events going on

Cons: light situation in ladies's loo, more vegan menus for breakfast please
