Vegan Philly cheese steak toastie

After being too early to order anything vegan from Hungry Jack’s, my partner and I had low hopes for any options at all before our flight.

To our surprise, right next door at St Ali, is home to one of the best vegan toasties we’ve ever eaten. Their vegan Philly cheese steak toastie is truely a hidden gem. Dare I say it’s even better than some sangas I’ve had at Smith and Deli.

The best bread!

Ah the airport, low hopes of a good feed. Boy was I wrong! Super happy to see this gem, the vegan philli was a no brainer, perfect blend of mushrooms and cheese/sauce. The kind of bread that cuts the roof of your mouth but so worth it 😆

Crisps included were nothing special, paprika flavoured is not my jam.

Philly itself, could not fault!

Pros: Big serve

Cons: Slightly pricey

Nice to have a decent vegan option!

I had the big vegan Philly roll, and it was pretty good, albeit expensive at $17. It didn’t come with the crisps as advertised and I couldn’t taste any mayo. The coffee was good too. Nice views of the airport apron too.

Coffee...and food

I came here at the suggestion of my brother who had missed out on the opportunity when he last travelled internationally. I had the big vegan Philly, which came with a large handful of potato crisps. It was tasty but expensive at $17 (to be fair, airport food is often expensive and the non-vegan version of the Philly was almost $20).

The coffee was great and I'd come back again just for that. (Plant milk options are soy, oat and almond.)

Funky cafe

I wanted to eat here even before seeing the vegan options on the menu. Nice little cafe, not overly busy when I came in. Pity it’s not lunch otherwise I’d be into the Big Vegan Philly 😁

Pros: Good breakfast and lunch options, Vegan lamington?!! C’mon Aussie!

Cons: Airside at international.. gotta be flying

Is the bomb! Pretty much a brownie wearing a lamington coat with chocolate ganache in the middle! Omg
