I had the vegan curry, which is just vegetables (to protein ingredient) and tastes OK. Nothing to rave about, but also not bad. Had hoped for more options and more authentic food. The ginger beer was pretty tasteless. Outdoor seating quite nice.

We visited Curry Bowl for dinner one evening. There are a few vegan options, including a vegan curry and a stir fry devilled soya dish. Spice levels can be adjusted to suit your taste. We tried level four, which is the highest available, and can confirm that it is not for the faint-hearted, but we really enjoyed it. The ambiance is relaxed and it was nice to sit outside on the heated terrace. Prices are reasonable at €9.50 for a main dish.

I got the vegan curry on noodles and lentil croquettes. They were both good. I was sitting inside and the way they cook on the grill is very noisy so not a very pleasant experience.

I had the vegan curry and it was okay. Nothing extraordinary, but still okay. The place was packed and service took forever. That together with the fact that we were sitting on the counter by the kitchen didn't make our experience eating there all that great. It's still a good place to eat if you run out of options or are in the mood for some Sri Lankan curry.

Read moreMy devil dish which was the stir fry was not the best. The peppers were barely cooked. I asked for spice level 3 and didn't feel any kind of spice.
Portions are pretty large. I didn't finish the food, as it wasn't to my taste.
My friend's vegan curry bowl came out cold so I had to ask for it to warm up, which they cooked again. Felt like the curry tasted powdery.
Staff were friendly though.

The vegan curry is rather tasty. It’s a chunky coconut milk based curry with fresh veggies and potatoes (no tofu). But that’s probably the only vegan option.

Mixed veg curry - more western than Sri Lankan in flavour. - Edit
One of the few places open on a Sunday for vegan food the waiter was friendly and explained there were two vegan mains (a mixed veg curry and another fried rice dish could be made vegan), and three sides could be made vegan.

If you’re after real Sri Lankan flavour and style this curry is not for you. If you’re happy with a bowl
of mixed veg (peas, carrots, cauliflower and potato) with curry and coconut with a western twist then you’ll be happy.
Overall, a nice curry but far from authentic in flavour.

I order the veg curry and it was really good full of loads of flavour - I got the Croatian spice and it was quite spicy but I do like spice. Where it was located was convenient and the staff were really friendly. They seemed to be having a lot of fun with the music which was a good laugh. Only downfall was I guess the menu wasn’t labelled vegan but the ingredients were listed so you’re able to distinguish what was vegan.

I loved the deviled dish vegetarian curry. It's like a mix between and Indian stir fry and Chinese sweet and sour. The spiciness level "Croatian spicy" was enough for me, and I usually like to eat spicy.

What a relief this place was. After a couple weeks travelling through smaller Croatian cities, where the options for vegan food are nearly nil and restaurants serving Asian or other ethnic food that's better suited to vegans are also nearly non-existent, I was excited to try Sri Lankan Curry Bowl when we got to Zagreb. I was not disappointed. I got the veg curry bowl with the highest level of spice - I think the spice level was called "Are You Serious?" It was incredibly spicy but still edible, which is just how I like it. It also cured my cold. My boyfriend got another dish with the "Croatian" level of spice, which was level two, and wishes he'd gone spicier, though the flavour was good. Throughout the trip we found that Croatian food is not particularly spicy, so spice it up when you can.
