Well taken care of - Edit
We visited here quite a few times. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would frequently been assigned the boss to take our orders as he spoke good English and was best able to advise on which dishes were vegan. We had some mixed meals that they made up for us off their buffet with the staff often bringing us extra bits for our meals. We also had some Chinese food which wasn’t as good as their Indian food but made a good change. The music choices were interesting- the venga boys came on a few times!

They fed us vegan food, so I’m thankful - Edit
Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable about vegan options. However, he said no roti or bread they make could be vegan at all, so I’m not sure why some others got told it was vegan. I would double check on that if your server seems to not be sure. I feel bad giving it 3 stars, but the dishes we got weren’t great, and I don’t think what I got was what was listed on the menu. I got the fried mixed vegetable curry, and my partner got the vegan banana leaf set (more expensive), and the only difference was mine came on a plate that looked like a banana leaf, and hers was on a banana leaf. I was pretty confused because I just wanted a big curry portion and rice, like it said on the menu. And it didn’t have much flavor. The dal was just water. The portion was tiny, so we got aloo gobi after to try to feel full, and it was way better.

Hey, I’m still thankful they fed us!! Good option.
Pros: Aloo gobi, Knowledgeable staff

Amazing indian food - Edit
We went here for lunch, had the dosa, roti and banana leaf meal. The food was really tasty and easily adapted to vegan. Also the portions had a good size, not the usual overkill. As they serve south indian cuisine, the food is less heavy. Good place for luch

Nice - Edit
Very good Indian food. There is wide variety of Indian breads: naan, puri, thonsai, there is roti as well. Very nice strawberry lassi. The waiters are really nice, Ben especially is really willing to talk to customers. 😀

Amazing Indian food! - Edit
Went here on our first night, came back the next one as well! Finally some really good Indian food. The Naan bread is sooo good, fresh from a big clay oven. They have several veggie options to go with it. Also if you're not vegan, try the strawberry Lassi, my absolut favorite!!

Mixed veg curry - Edit
I ordered the mix veg curry with rice and asked for no dairy/ ghee. it was so flavourful and tasty! Also this place is super affordable for the portion size you get. I also got a plain roti on the side. The nan bread contains egg as I did ask so don’t order that if you’re vegan😄

Vegetarian claypot is amazing - Edit
Ate here for breakfast and came twice for dinner.
Read moreOwner was lovely and took great care in making sure meals were vegan.
The claypot was the best meal I had in Tanah Rata.
Packed with vegetables and tofu and a massive portion which probably would've done two people.

Cheap vegan food - Edit
All vegetarian options are easily made vegan. Very nice service, that granted all our wishes. Although the place was very busy the waiter was lovely and courteous and the food was served fast. Also quite cheap (vegetarian/vegan meal 9RM)

Try something different - banana leaf meal - Edit
The banana leaf meal was tasty and filling, service was kind. Prices are cheap and fresh juice is really fresh, moreover the glass is huge.

Would not trust this place. - Edit
We got the vegetable curry and found meat in it. When we complained, they said there was no vegetable curry. When we showed him on the menu, he just kind of played dumb and said he didn't know and he'd get us one. Obviously they just scoop curry out of the meat curry and try to leave the meat pieces out. Would not be happy about that at all, and would not eat here again. We specifically said we were vegetarian.

Not overwhelmed - Edit
This place was okay, I got the vegetarian banana leaf meal minus the paneer dish and most things were cold. I got the feeling that the only fresh thing was the Dahl, which actually was quite tasty. Otherwise I wasn’t really overwhelmed.

Better than standard - Edit
Delicious veggie curries. They have a full menu but I did the self serve option, you pick either rice or roti and then serve yourself from the buffet. Most of the top row is veg. The options were cabbage, spinach, chickpeas, green beans, and tofu. Also comes w a bowl of daal. All for 9 ringets. Very satisfying!

The best I had in Tanah Rata - Edit
Out of the places I tried in the area, this one was the best (and it's always busy). Had a really nice aloo gobi and bindhi masala, the portions were decent and the price was okay. The staff was also super helpful.

Average - Edit
I had the vegetarian banana leaf plate. Thought it was quite bland and I was still hungry after finishing it so I'd suggest ordering a roti, chapati etc with it.

Tasty Indian food on the cheap - Edit
This place is always busy, and with a reason. It’s dirt cheap and serves decent Indian food. All dishes have a vegetarian (generally vegan - verify if in doubt) version as well, like the veggie banana leaf dish for RM8,50. I ate here 3 times already (staying long-term in Cameron Highlands), and 2 times it was amazing, 1 time a bit bland. I found the staff friendlier and less pushy than the neighbors at Kumar and the naans are half price here compared to them. Besides Indian they serve local Malaysian food, Chinese food and some Western dishes, but I haven’t tried those.
