Great service, food ok

As mentioned in an earlier review, the menu no longer has a separate vegan section. I found a vegan bowl option - fried home style potatoes,
Sautéed veggies, and topped with their plant-based veggie patty. They also offer tofu, beyond burgers and beyond sausage.

The food was okay, but not exceptional. The server seemed quite knowledgeable about the menu and was willing to make accommodations for others in my party.

Prices are reasonable and portions large.

Vegan breakfast

2023 update:

Well, the menu used to be easier to navigate for vegans, with a large, dedicated section. Nowadays there's a couple vegan items, but still lots of choices - they'll sub friend tofu for eggs, and protein add-on choices include tofu, Beyond and a "plant patty". Still lots of choices, just harder to find.

I didn't find things particularly greasy or gross like other reviewers.. Yes, it's short-order diner food with more oil than I cook with at home, not health food, but I didn't find it over the top or bad for what it is.

Original 2017 review:

Breakfast is often really hard for vegans. Squeeze In has you covered. Tofu scramble, vegan chilaquiles, yum. Your carnivorous friends will be stuffed and satisfied also.

Pros: So many vegan choices you'll want them all., Mimosas., Funky decor.

Cons: Often a long wait, especially weekends in season, Closes at 2., Lives up to its name, you do have to squeeze in

Looks Promising but Disappoints

Maybe my perception was skewed by hanger, but I was really disappointed by house misleading this menu was. That bright green V only means vegetarian. It says that all vegetarian items can be easily made vegan, but it’s not true. The vegan choices were much more limited. (Really though, why designate vegetarian dishes - which are obvious- but not differentiate vegan dishes??)
I had the sweet potato breakfast bowl with tofu and avocado. It was alright, but could have used something like a sauce to bring it together - it was just the vegetables, nothing special, no seasoning.
Would have LOVED to find vegan pancakes here, but it was inaccurate advertising.

Pros: Lots of vegetarian options

Cons: Not a lot of vegan options, Misleading menu, Long wait

Meh

Good in a pinch but get ready for oily bland food, and a gigantic serving (I’m talkin’ 2-3 hungry people could split something). I hesitate to call it a plate, since there’s so much food served it’s more like a platter.

Extra points for having more than one vegan options and non-condescending staff!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cool vibe

Cons: Greasy food, Excessive portions

Ok in a pinch

This is a very cute and fun restaurant. The idea is great but the execution was lacking. The food was ok. It was lacking in flavor and seemed a bit greasy. The staff was friendly and we were served quickly, but we wouldn't eat there again unless it was our only option.

very greasy food

I ordered the griller it was a vegan patty. I didn't enjoy it as it tasted greasy the "spudz" that came with it were undercooked and very hard. The service was really fast though. I ate with 3 non vegans and none of them enjoyed what they had ordered.

Pros: Loads of vegan options , fast service

Cons: expensive , oily

Friendly staff but greasy food

Te staff is superfriendly and the portions huge. It was nice to have a menu with vegan options while spending the weekend in the area.

BUT the food was super greasy.

I guess it’s ok if you’re hungry, but not really the best option if your looking for a nice meal.

Fun Atmosphere, Disappointing Food

We were visiting Truckee for the holidays and were excited to see so many delicious-looking vegan options on the menu here! It's a cute place with super friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere (it is incredibly small). We ordered the Spudz, burrito, and burger off the vegan menu. The food came quite quickly and were hefty servings. Everything was okay, but not amazing. The burrito was the most disappointing, as it lacked any seasoning whatsoever. It also came with a large side of plain iceberg lettuce, for some reason. The Spudz were the most tasty dish we got, and were loaded with veggies. It was less of a scramble and more of a saute, though. Probably wouldn't go again, though we were happy the vegan options existed at all.

Pros: Friendly and fast service, fun ambiance, local spo

Cons: Busy, mediocre food, expensive.

No complaints!

This punk-rock/artsy cafe served our party of 6 (3 vegans, 3 non-vegans) well.
There are only 4 vegan entrees on the large brunch/lunch menu, but they all sounded appealing to me. I enjoyed the chilaques & tried my sister's Spudz entree & it was tasty. We also loved the garlic fries (which I got without parmesan).
It would be nice to have more vegan options, but since the 4 they have sound good & we're in Reno (not the most vegan-friendly city), I have no complaints.
P.S. I heard the cocktails are good too, though I only had a delicious glass of grapefruit juice.

Pros: Friendly staff, 4 good vegan entrees, Artsy/punk decor
