Good food but small portions! Don't think it's fully vegan.

I'm not sure this restaurant is 100% vegan, there's mention of butter, condensed milk etc. Due to communication issues we just steered clear of these.
We ordered a range of dishes and shared some. The chips were expensive for the tiny portion we got but the fried greens were great! My boyfriend ordered the vegetarian pork and received it in a tiny bowl with about 5 pieces.
I had the most issues with my order, they brought the wrong thing, even announcing the wrong dish when they placed it on the table. When I queried it however I was told I had what I had ordered despite the fact it looked just like the picture of another dish. There was a bit of back and forth and I finally had my dish swapped. The food I finally got was great!
All in all the food was good but the service was questionable. I don't mind people getting my order wrong, especially when there are language issues but I don't like it when people lie to me.

Cons: Portion size

Mid price for mid range food

This restaurant was just 1min walk from my accommodation so that was my main reason for eating here.
I chose the broccoli and mushroom stir fry and ordered noodles on the side. It was completely plain, no flavour or spice at all, but I was given a bottle of soy sauce to add on.
Wanted bad, but there are cheaper and tastier places in Hanoi.

Pros: Good location in the Old Quarter , Mid price

Cons: Bland and plain

good experience

The staff clarified that there are no eggs (and I didn’t see any on menu) and only limited dairy. We had two soups, spring rolls and a mushroom dish. The food was good but not unique.

Average

This place was a disappointment especially here in Vietnam. It is not vegan, they serve lots of eggs, dairy and cheese. The best thing we had yesterday was the pumpkin soup which was good and the banana fritters. Although our dessert, banana fritters, was served first and our pumpkin soup (without cream) was served last for “dessert.” The fried spring rolls were not good—oily and mostly flavorless. The banana blossom salad tasted old and unloved and the other entree was so unmemorable I have forgotten it less than 24 hours later. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Hanoi, I recommend you skip this one altogether.

Pros: location , pumpkin soup

Cons: food

Great.

This is my 3rd visit to a vegan restaurant on the Hanoi list (near old quarter)
Simple decor, great staff. My partner has a garlic allergy & I'm vegan, no issues communicating this. Food was great and came quick.

Had fried rice, fried tofu & so far my best spring rolls in Vietnam.

Pros: Fast simple.

Very ordinary

Having checked earlier reviews I found this place disappointing. The food was very ordinary and there are several places a short walk away that are better.

Cons: Uninteresting selection

I eat here every day :)

:)
I like the staff, the food, the atmosphere, and the variety of foods and drinks.

FOR VEGANS: One of the staff told me that the only food they use cream in is the soups. There are some egg dishes, according to the menu, but I wonder if they actually are made with egg. One description says "imitation egg" or something like that. Another reviewer commented that they put cream in the smoothies. Some of the descriptions say they are made with butter. I spoke with one of the staff to see if it's butter or margarine. Surprisingly, he didn't understand, but insisted they don't use the "butter". The coconut coffee has a dose of condensed milk in it. So, aside from these choices, the food is all vegan, which is the majority of things on the long menu.

First time I ever had "Pho" was here, and it was awesome :)

I've only spoken much with the 2 male staff because I've seldom even seen the young lady. The 2 guys speak tons of English whereas the lady seems to speak less, but she, as well as the guys, are all super friendly.

If you want garlic, bring your own! This is the vegetarian style that avoids garlic, and 2 other things, one of which should be onions. Today, I saw what sure looked like an onion skin in the "Indian Rice" dish. Now that I think about it, this dish wasn't all that great. It'd be much better to go to an Indian place for Indian food!

Myself, I have a preference for Indian food because I don't like all the fake meats so common in Chinese style vegetarian. But for various reasons, I eat here every day, and just select dishes with little or no fake meat. Ask them to leave the stuff out or minimize it if you don't want it. Also, I'd like to see brown rice here.

Pros: Friendly staff, Great taste, Nice ambience

Cons: No brown rice, I don't like fake meats, downstairs fans are dirty!

Yummy food

Really nice Vietnamese food. Not sure whether they are completely vegan given the milk situation, and ?use of butter/cream? But nonetheless, delicious fresh food. The guy there during the day is very helpful and attentive. They are also looking at creating their own garden and using the fresh produce from there- pretty cool!

Good

I ate here twice when hanoi. Both times i had a variation of noodle soup, both were good. I enjoyed the Singapore noodles the most. My friend had a pizza there but it tasted burnt so probaly not worth getting any western style food.

Hanoi's Heaven

Located in the heart of Hanoi's Old Town this restaurant is a real treasure. All the menu items are vegan but cow's milk is used for smoothies so avoid those and you'll be good.

The menu is extensive and very inexpensive, which made it my number one choice for food in Hanoi.

One night during a torrential downpour and thunderstorm they even delivered to my hotel after I messaged them on Facebook! I was hungry and it was my last resort... Pulled it off though.

Top tip: spring rolls, tofu lemongrass and chilli.

Pros: Huge menu, cheap SUPER cheap, great communication

Cons: Gets very busy (especially on buffet night)

Plenty of choice

We stumbled upon this little vegetarian restaurant as we were seeking shelter from the pouring rain, and I'm very happy about this accidental discovery! The staff was a little overwhelmed by the amount of customers but they were very polite and humble. The good was great too! We were starving and ordered sweet potato fries (yum!), tofu and mushroom noodle soup (very tasty), vegetarian fish soup (meh, tasted just like seaweed and water) and Indian rice with lotus root (delicious!). The amount of dishes they offer is HUGE and almost challenging to decide on a meal. All of the dishes we ordered were about 45.000 - 50.000 vnd which is quite good for Hanoi. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that the staff asked (urged) every costumer to give them a review on happycow, tripadvisor, Facebook etc. I would have written a review anyway, but if I'm forced to do so, that kind of misses the point... Let your great food be the motivator to write a review, not your begging staff!

Pros: Huge vegetarian menu, Tasty, Affordable

Cons: Pushy staff, Too much to choose from

Lovely stuff and awesome lunch

Just had a salad and the small green rolls. Both were amazing! The zoning lady invited me for a buffet tomorrow. Sounds like lots of delicious food! Perfect place to pop in for lunch and get away from the hectic city life. 100% vegetarian.

Very good food but...

I had a unfortunate experience there:
My boyfriend and I went (for the second time) in this restaurant. We ordered 2 dishes, specifically asking for no coriander. My boyfriend's meal arrived, but I was told that the one I chose was unavailable at the time. Fine. I choose another one while my boyfriend is waiting for me. 10min later, a waiter comes, telling me the other dish I chose was not available either! Ok... I choose another one, which arrives 10 min later... full of coriander!! I just sent back the plate and we shared my boyfriends meal.
Cherry on the cake, they didn't offer any drinks or discount as a gesture of apology.
The food was good the first time, but we will never go back to this place.

Duong Sinh Chay

We tried this com chay last evening. Smallish restaurant with upstairs seating. The food was not upto what i would have expected with Jalus and Minh Chay nearby. The menu with pictures looked nice with pizzas and other western dishes. But what we were served was a bit disappointing.
We had Dried Tien Vua Salad, straw mushhrooms in a crock pot and bowl of rice and two fresh juices 185,000d ($8).
The salad was swimming in a sugary dressing, the mushrooms were overcooked, salty and dark brown. The juices pineapple and passion fruit were nice.
I did speak to the owner about our food and gave some suggestions to help improve. He did say the meals don't reflect the pictures. As you can see the pics look professional as many other places I have seen on Happy Cow by the restauranteurs.
Will try again.

Pros: Handily placed in Old Quarter., Menu in Vietnamese and English has pictures, Clean and airly

Cons: Does use milk in smoothies, Smaller servings compared to similar places

My new favorite restaurant in Hanoi!!!

After a week in Hanoi I finally found this gem of a vegan restaurant in the heart of the backpacker area-- fantastic vegan food!!! I tried the Bún (fish noodle soup) and the Lotus root salad and can highly recommend both dishes! Prices range from 45k (soup) to 120k (pizza and other specialities)
Don't miss this one!!

Pros: wide menu selection, all vegan, delicious
