Comfort Food with a Full Bar - Edit
Great place for omnivores and vegans alike. If you’re coming in here thinking it’s a restaurant first and a bar second, you are mistaken. The drinks are cold, fresh and delicious with plenty of N.A. options.
Read moreIt’s always a pleasure to see more than one vegan option, and it have be more than basic fries and salad. They have fries, but they are anything but basic, and salads/bowls that hit with some really good flavor. A lot of their sauces are vegan and super tasty.
A great place to go with friends and family alike. Enjoy the patio or the good vibes inside with great music and friendly staff. A must check out during the summer!
Pros: The music and environment , The friendly staff, The variety of options
Cons: You’re exposed to cigarette smoke from outside 🤮, Ordering at the bar

They activated my pet peeves - Edit
This place was not what I expected. It has a bar vibe more than anything else and the decor is not as bright as the webpage made me think. There is only street parking – the paved lot next to it has no entry for cars. Cute front patio that would be nice in summer.
Read moreThe menu inside is not the same as the online menu, which immediately makes me wonder what else isn't accurate. I planned to get the salad listed in the vegan section online but in the restaurant it's in the GF section and contains cheese. Some of the vegan dishes list different ingredients online.
You order at the bar and pay the tip up front, and you bus your own table.
The sign says they do not accept cash. By email they say they do, but they won't give you change. In Oregon businesses have to accept cash.
Edited to add that I emailed them about the differences between the online and in-store menus. They replied that there are no differences. I responded with a list of a few of the differences and never heard from them again.

Puttin' On the Spitz - Edit
The Vegan Wrap includes falafel or quinoa, hummus, lemon-herb tahini, olives, green pepper, tomato, cucumber, roasted corn, pickled onions, crispy garbanzos, romaine, and cabbage. I didn't notice any corn, and the garbanzos were not crispy, but it was still good overall. The fries were even better.

Just okay - Edit
The food was somewhere between passable and decent enough. However, the menu was quite confusing when it came vegan items. While the person helping us did their best to answers questions about what items were and were not vegan, they couldn’t actually say with confidence what allergens were in what items. The menu had a vegan section, but there were also entrees labeled vegan in the non-vegan sections, which was confusing. And things like french fries and pita sticks weren’t labeled with allergens at all.
Read moreI’d definitely go back in the future if my options were between Spitz and Chipotle, or Spitz and nothing, or even Spitz and driving across town for something more interesting.
Pros: Lots of vegan sauces!, Lots of vegan entrees!, Open late (for Portland)
Cons: Confusing menu for knowing exactly what is vegan, Staff not sufficiently trained on vegan offerings

Great go-to for to-go - Edit
I love their felafel; it's so light, fluffy, and crispy. Their bowls are delicious, they can make their food gluten-free (though it's not a dedicated gluten-free kitchen), and they are mindful and accommodating of other allergies (my big one is soy). I get takeout here frequently.
