Lacklustre - Edit
While it feels almost like walking into someone's living room, a friend recommended this place and I was looking forward to sampling some Japanese vegan fare. The service was a bit all over the place (especially as we appeared to be the only non-staff members present). While attractively presented, the dishes - which were $14.50 each - were bland and uninspiring at best.
My dining companion had the 'lemongrass udon noodles with vegetables and tofu', which appeared to be made with processed lemongrass sauce (i.e. no fresh herbs were used), almost no tofu, and the only vegetables present were a few pieces of mushroom, lettuce and grated carrot. My 'spicy miso udon noodle soup' tasted like a dollop of miso in boiling water, and the only vegetables present were a few pieces of seaweed, grated carrot and a couple of mushrooms (again with hardly any tofu).
When I go out to eat and pay a premium for the privilege, I expect a little more for $50+ than what essentially amounts to a glass each of wine and a couple of bowls of udon noodles with garnish.
Pros: lots of vegan options, brownies are delicious
Cons: food boring, stodgy and tasteless

Friday night and the lights are low - Edit
IF you're looking for a place to go, this may be it. It's quirky. It's friendly (think homely) and the food is fabulous!
I had been to the old Disco beans before it moved, and it was lovely. Now it seems a little smaller in size, but still with the same mismatched furniture and trinkets around the place. It really is like stepping back in time. They even write down your orders and calculate by hand at the end. But you can pay with cards.
The food is something else. So fresh and tasty. Mostly healthy unless you chose something like the mock fried chicken or chips. Tasty, it wouldn't be out of place in a more expensive restaurant. Beautifully presented and an intricacy of flavours that comes from authentic, experienced chefs.
I loved it. My husband was not expecting much because of the setting, but he was blown away by the flavours.
This is a cool place if you want to 'hang out' with friends and enjoy a nice meal and homely ambiance. Plenty of space and noise levels are good to have a decent conversation. They even have a couch.
They have alcohol, and they do serve (real animal) fish. Coffee is great - they do almond milk and always have some vegan sweet options.
Pros: Fresh, tasty food, Loads of vegan options, Easy parking/public transport
Cons: They serve fish

Delicious Vegan-Friendly Breakfast place - Edit
I went to Disco Beans with some colleagues who are all omnivores. They were a bit sceptical at first because of the alternative looks of the restaurant, but they quickly accepted it, latest when our breakfast arrived.
I had a very nice vegan breakfast with soymilk coffee and enjoyed it very much.
Pros: Vegan friendly, Alternative flair
Cons: Serves meat

Splendid - Edit
A rather quirky place. We were served by a lovely young Japanese lady, and had the sukiyaki udon and vegan okonomiyaki.
ビーガンとして日本に住むのが大変ですが、こんな場所があったら問題なくなりますね。
Pros: Good number of vegan options
