This was horror - Edit
The Thai Green Curry nor the Soup were tasty. The soup was too salty and the curry just didn’t look or taste appealing. I wouldn’t recommend this place as a vegan

Good place to go in Funchal - Edit
They don't directly have vegan options but they can easily veganise them for you (don't add fish oil etc.). They offer that themselves. The food was good, maybe a little bit expensive for the size of the portion, but it is in the capital so that is somewhat expected. They also ask you how spicy you want the food. The staff was good.

Have average vegan options - Edit
Spice curry has lots of vegetarian options and the staff are very knowledgeable about what vegan is. They let you eliminate any ingredients such as fish sauce which is in pretty much everything.
Read moreThe only starter they said was vegan were the dumplings which came with a peanut sauce.
The filling was good but not amazing. The sauce was nice though.
I got the yellow curry which came with a small bit of tofu and some veg. The veg was cooked nicely but the broth was too salty for me. I liked that it came with tofu, it was a nice treat. My boyfriend had the vegetarian pad Thai which he really enjoyed.
The service was really slow but the staff were friendly and answered all the questions I had.
Pros: Knowledgable about vegan options
Cons: Slow service , Average food

Don’t be put off by the decor, the food is really good - Edit
The onion pakora is brilliant, worth the visit alone, saw a guy go in twice and just eat that.
Read moreWe had the green and yellow curries, both very good, visited twice during the holiday.
The staff were very accommodating and happy to help remove any non vegan items, and as the meals are cooked from scratch it was easy to ensure that there was no cross contamination
Pros: The taste, Friendly and accommodating staff, Open when many places were closed
Cons: The decor really needs some work

Not very good - Edit
We ate: spring rolls, pad thai, soup.
Read moreI really didnt enjoy this restaurant at all.
It is not authentic - the "pad thai" was just a basic stir fry of finely sliced vegetables with a few noodles and no tofu. It was not filling and it tasted nothing like a pad thai.
It's quite expensive (7.50 for one large spring roll for example).
it was a long wait for the food.
I do not recommend.
Cons: long wait, food, cost

Very good organic Thai-Food with amazing service! - Edit
Since the spring rolls weren't vegan the imcredibly friendly waitress recommended us a Nepalese specialty as a starter, which we really liked.
Read moreMost dishes on the menu can be made vegan.
We had the yellow Thai Curry and the Pad Thai which can be ordered in three spice levels (low, medium, hot). Both dishes were really tasty and all the ingredients were fresh and organic!
As a dessert we had mango sticky rice which also tasted very good.
The kind waitress offered us tap water and kept refilling whenever the glass was empty.
All in all our experience was great and we'll definitely come back!

Good pakora, average curry, super nice staff - Edit
The lady working there was really sweet. It took her a moment to realize which dishes were vegan but she seemed to know. The onion pakora was delicious. The yellow thai curry was a bit overcooked, all the vegetables were kind of turned to mush

New restaurant with great vegan options - Edit
Read moreLovely new restaurant with authentic menu items and very friendly staff.
This is a real gem of a restaurant in the middle of Funchal with a really incredible selection of choice for vegan and vegetarian tastes. The staff are very amenable and helpful in amending or advising on alternatives to existing menu choices if needed.
We couldn’t stop ordering because everything was so enticing and the flavours were just incredible. Prices are very reasonable, and they are happy to serve shared dishes.
The weight and kitchen stuff on the night we visited are both from Nepal and we’re so helpful in advising us on our choices.
Wine is reasonable price and they are happy to serve tapwater on request.
We had such a lovely evening here and will definitely back. Be back again , highly recommended.
Pros: Fantastic selection of menu items, Super friendly and helpful staff, In the centre of Funchal
