Serves meat, vegan options available. Formerly India Food and Grocery. Serves veg-friendly Indian fast food including a buffet. Sells Indian groceries as well. Reported closed to HappyCow.
I've tried this place a few times since they changed ownership and became Spice Court (in late 2010). They have a buffet for lunch--cheap--at $6.49, which includes a few veggie entrees (including a split pea dish), rice, sambar and a masala dosa and roti. There's one non-veg dish in the buffet (they'll confirm which one it is for you). However, if they're busy, you might not get the masala dosa with the buffet--last time I went, they never brought it out (after a 35 minute wait)! They also have various a la carte dishes, including various dosas (they specialize in the cuisine of Hyderabad) and Indian-Chinese food (like gobi manchurian). Anyway, if you go, make sure they're not busy--otherwise, you might be waiting a long time for your order (or the dosa and roti with your buffet).

I really LOVE this place and have been going there for over 15 years now. The food is made for a real Indian palate, so dont expect them to understand when you say "mild." The best bet is to order small amounts of different things and remember what is naturally not too spicy. My personal favorite is Channa Bhatura which is a garbanzo stew served with a big slab of fried bread. WONDERFUL!!!! If you are not Vegan get some yogurt with every order to take away the sting. And dont forget the SWEETS!!!! Indian sweets are to Die For! Carrot Halava, Burfi, Yum-a-Rama! Unfortunately, I dont think any of the sweets are Vegan, but I could be wrong. Also, give the ethnic drinks a try. Nimbu pani, a nice lime soda is really fun!
