Tasty Indian food - lots of vegan options - Edit
The Spice Cottage is located in the heart of Salema, a short walk from the beach. It offers a wide range of classic curries, including lots of veggie options - most of which can be made vegan on request. We tried the aloo palak, baingan bharta & chana masala along with some boiled rice & roti. Everything was very good. Spice levels can be varied to suit your taste with mild, medium, hot & vindaloo options available. We tried some medium & some hot and would recommend the former as hot gets a bit overloaded with chilli & spoils the balance of spices, but it's all down to personal taste! Staff are knowledgeable about what is and isn't vegan. They're also friendly & attentive. Prices are reasonable at €8- €10 per dish, but you may need three dishes between two people if you're hungry after a long hike (as we were) as portions aren't massive.

Indian food with many vegetarian selections that can be made vegan - Edit
We had two wonderful meals here. The menu is extensive and the food delicious. We had light crispy poppadoms ( GF) available with pickled dipping sauces, cooked mixed vegetables in masala sauce, aloo Gobi. The daal was especially good, available with traditional yellow lentils but also black lentils ( some ghee unless specify without).
