Dont go there for vegan options

Nothing was offered and smells bad and looks dirty. Not recommended although i was hopeful for a vegan option of a local taste!

Quick service, good food and good prices

Had lunch on a Sunday, the restaurant was half full and the service was quick and efficient. I asked for a vegan francesinha. Their version of this famous sandwich has sausage, tomato, canned mushrooms and raw onion — not to mention the mandatory cheese and bread, of course. I'm not usually the biggest fan of raw onion and have a bit of a personal feud against canned mushrooms, but this time they didn't bother me that much and I enjoyed the meal. Good to have vegan options around these parts, the North need more of those.

Pros: Good value for money, Good portions, Good service

Cons: Needs more vegan options

Typical dishes by the beach

Offers vegan versions of standard beach bar fare. We got a francesinha and a cachorro. The francesinha quickly satisfied my craving for one.

The staff was nice and knowledgeable about the vegan options. They immediately brought out the food packaging when asked what kind of faux cheese/meat they used.

Pros: Walking distance to/from the beach, Vegan portion of the menu is clearly marked

Cons: Food was adequate

excellent typical Portuguese food!

The hours are wrong, this place is open all day serving breakfast lunch and dinner all day until 2am each day not 2 in the afternoon. They’ve got a full vegan menu including hot dogs, a pasta and the typical Portuguese Francesina, a sandwich filled with “sausages” mushrooms onions and covered with “cheese” and a tasty sauce! I’d wanted to try it since arriving in Portugal and was so happy to find this place.

Delicious unique food

The food here was traditional Portuguese made vegan and it was incredible! Almost hard to believe it was all vegan because it was THAT good but we were reassured. I am so glad we tried the food here and I will definitely be back.

Pros: Delicious vegan traditional Portuguese food.

Cons: Not all vegan

100% recommended

Vila Praia de Âncora is a fishing village, with restaurants that mostly serve traditional Portuguese food (which by definition is not vegan).

Spacos was a lovely surprise, as it had an entirely vegan menu - elsewhere I'd probably have to make do with eating the side dishes (rice, potatoes and salad).
This restaurant has vegan versions of typical Portuguese foods, like the francesinha, toasties, salads and even pasta.

I went for the "cachorro c/molho" (hot dog with sauce) and it was amazing! The francesinha sauce was tasty, the portion was enormous, incredibly filling and the vegan products used (i.e. cheese and sausage) were really good. It's not the healthiest option, but neither is the original, so I'd say they made a good vegan version.

The waitress was really nice and friendly too, made sure everything was okay with my meal. I even asked her if she was really sure everything was vegan (since I didn't find any reviews for the restaurant on vegan websites, I wanted to double check) and while she knowledgeable about veganism, she still made sure to ask the cook and even showed me the labels of the ingredients. 5* customer service right here!

Can't say much about the vibe, since we were the only customers and it was mid-afternoon, but it seems like a laidback spot and it has a view to the beach from the tables closest to the back windows.

If they didn't serve animal products, I'd definitely give Spacos a five-star rating!
