Amazing buffé foe an even more amazing price - Edit
This place has I all, it is a vegetarian place first with lots of foods with cheese and eggs but many things are vegan. Just ask the people working there, they are great.
The sallad bar is really big and almost all is vegan.
I had 1,3-2kg of food at four different times during ur two day visit to San Juan. 3 euro each time (210 peso eat as much as you want). This place is always packed with people taking food with them by the weight. I have been to hundreds of vegan restaurants but this belongs to top 3. Would be even better with less cheese but I guess people want that here.
This place is in the town center. They have salad bar with fresh greens and vegetables, but most of the cooked dishes have cheese. They have some souces in the fridge, one of which tastes very similar to hummus. The food is rather salty. No fruites. Some tasty things are over very fast and they don't renew it.
Their bread is really good.
The main reason we went to San Juan was to go to Soychu, we went twice in 3 days and would have gone three times but they were closed on Sunday (They are supposed to be open 1230-330 on Sunday, but were close by 130pm... this was a major bum out since San Juan is almost entirely closed on Sunday). They are open for lunch 1230-330 and then again for dinner, I think it was around 6:30 for dinner.
It's an All-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet with an ok amount of vegan options (30-40%). Ask a staff member which items are vegan and they will happily show you. If you are eating there, it is $30AR (about $7.50US) for all you can eat. If you take food to go, you pay by the weight.
Don't miss this place! If you are on a tight budget and are vegan this might be the most food you eat while in a restaurant!
They are open between lunch and dinner selling whole wheat bread, tea and some other basic health food items and vitamins.
If you a reading this and looking for another veg place to try as well, check out the Tourist Info place on San Martin and get a free map from them. There are two restaurants listed as vegetarian, but we didn't try the other one so I don't have any other info on it.
