Good noodles

I had the Udon noodles. There was a menu with higher prices because it is Norwegian Constitution day.
Because of the holiday, the restaurant was busier than normal but they still found me a table and the food was good.

It was OK. Sizeable dishes but lacking in taste

A good selection of vegan options; I went for the silken tofu dish with szechuan sauce. It was *alright*. All a bit samey in terms of texture and flavour. Lots of it though, so I left feeling full! And restaurant atmosphere was decent.

Great vegan options

Fantastic food with very friendly staff. Served very quickly and portions were big. Highly recommend the broccoli and the udon noodles (which weren't spicy at all despite what the menu said). More vegan options than we were able to try in one visit! Also a lovely atmosphere to sit and dine in.

Pros: Food, Staff, Options

Chinese food

The staff are very polite, the food is full of incredible flavours of garlic, soy sauce, vegetables. We fancied somewhere that offered vegetables, rather than the usual burger and chips. This place did not disappoint. The staff speak good English.

Pros: Smell, Food full of flavour , Made to feel welcome

Soya Restaurant

We visited twice in August 2023. Between us we ordered the clearly marked vegan Buddha Hot pot, Vegetarian Wok Udon Noodles & Vegetarian Fried Rice (with vegetables)
All decent sized portions, very tasty & filling.
They have a few other items too.
I would recommend a visit

Pros: Tasty food, Decent portion sizes

A must visit for Asian food in Bergen

Soya is a modern Asain restaurant that has two floors (a lot of seating options). There were several vegan options on the menu, which was clearly marked with "Vegan". I ordered Dumpling for starter and Wok Uno Noodles with extra tofu. The dumplings were amazing and the noodles were very good, but I am glad I added the tofu. The tofu bites were big, marinated and tasty.

Pros: Several vegan options, Vegan options clearly marked

Excellent

A good amount of choice. I had the udon noodles - only have this if you’re into spice! The tempura veg was a great addition; make sure you look through the menu to find this as it isn’t listed on the main vegan/veggie page. None of the wines were listed as vegan so we had to Google to find out this information. Really lovely atmosphere and a very funny waiter. Would definitely recommend!

Great food and service.

Decent amount of choice on the menu.
Really tasty food. We had the Buddha hot pot and the aubergine hot pot as mains, the tempura veg for starters. All served by a very fun and happy gent full of decent banter.

Pros: Tasty food , Nice venue , Great staff

Cons: Slightly expensive.

Great atmosphere; great food.

A relaxed atmosphere inside with great service from our waiter, who was friendly and funny throughout. The food was excellent. Exactly what you’d want from a restaurant serving Chinese cuisine. There was a vegetarian/vegan section on the menu with a range of options. The tempura vegetables side dish was great. The mains come with rice (unless you order a noodles dish). The wines aren’t listed as vegan, but we googled a few and one of the rieslings was vegan (and rounded off the meal nicely). Would recommend.

Deceptive

Although the waitress was warm, the restaurant does not live up to expectations. The dishes are very ordinary and too oily. Recipes and cooking are approximate. Total deception.

Pros: Welcoming, Central location

Cons: Not delicate at all, Banal, Badly cooked

Really nice restaurant with many vegan options. Had the best mapu tofu I have ever tried. Beautiful venue. Nice staff. A bit pricy. Nice view over some old houses in Bryggen if you get a window seat.

Pros: Many vegan items on menu, Vegan options clearly marked, Friendly staff

Cons: A bit pricy

Great food and service

Soya is a beautiful restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. They have a vegan menu with 8 different dishes, and they also offer a vegan dessert. We ordered Mapo tofu and Wok udon noodles, and both dishes were incredibly tasty! Even if it's not the cheapest place it was well worth the money and we will be coming back.

Pros: Vegan menu , Modern and clean looking , Friendly staff

Best Chinese food ever!

Stopped by for lunch at just around noon. Also found out that they open at noon so that’s why we were the first people in the door. The owner of the restaurant is actually the one that helped us out. There is an entire vegetarian/vegan page towards the back of the menu. I ordered the vegan wok udon noodles with no pak choy. It was phenomenal. It may be the best noodle dish I’ve ever had. Seriously considering heading back for dinner. FYI-if you are planning to go for dinner, make a reservation! They are pretty full for dinner but they have the same menu available for lunch. For two people, lunch cost around $50 but it was really great so it was worth it!
PS-Soya also offers a vegan tempura that is not listed on the veg page. You’ll find it in the first couple pages of the menu.

Pros: A whole page of veg options!, Friendly staff , Central location

Cons: Pricey

Amazing Chinese - many vegan options

Wow. Loved this place. The tofu is amazing. We ate our food too quickly and forgot to get photos. The mushroom hot pot was ridiculously good (but not too mushroomy). The noodles were also really good. It said 3 of 5 for spice but wasn’t super spicy.

Pros: Incredible flavors , Amazing tofu, added to our son’s meal for free!, Full page of 6-8 vegan options, plus a dessert

Cons: Expensive drinks (yeah, I know it’s Norway), Not overly spicy, but you can easily adjust
