Read more2nd: we are regulars here. It is amazing!! I always pick the vegetarian chicken with tausi saus (that is black bean sauce). It is absolutely amazing!! If you want vegan bami just ask for bami with no egg! Owners are really nice too!!

Alle gerechten die we hadden waren top. Was lang geleden dat ik als vegan "traditioneel" Chinese afhaal had en het was echt perfect, dikke aanrader!! Favoriet: babi ketjap met groenten, babi pangang, saté. Maar de kaart is enorm dus nog veel meer te proberen, snel weer hierheen!

Soy is echt bizar. Het verschil met een normale chinees is echt niet merkbaar. De sateetjes, de babi pangang, de bami. Alles is zo smaakvol. Heerlijk!!

Very tasty vegan food. Really love the vegan duck. The restaurant itself isn't looking that good, its better for take away. But as a vegan living in Utrecht I'm really happy with this place.

The restaurant is rather small, so I usually just get takeout, but the owner is very friendly and the service is great.

We do not live nearby Soy, but when we are in or pass Utrecht, we always consider coming back here to enjoy the food again :) The first time we had dinner inside, sharing some nice dishes. The half a dozen other times we went for take out of lovely vegan saté and "loempia" (a familiar big spring roll filled with taugé etc. which is made vegan upon request) and sometimes some baked banana. Ok this is not health food, but it is really yummy!

The hot and sour soup was really yummy. I also had the king pao “chicken” with noodles. It was sooo good. The fake chicken wasn’t great on its own, but worked really well with the dish. Great meal.

Loved this place when I was living in Utrecht and kept passing by every once in a while. This is the place that made me eat take-away food while I usually really prefer to cook at home or eat at a restaurant.
Read moreThey have a few places to sit, but it is really more a take-away than a restaurant. Actually, it is _the typical Chinese- take away that you usually get in NL, but all vegetarian and mostly vegan! Nothing has dairy in it, a some dishes have egg but are marked as such and can partly be made vegan (also marked on the menu). If unsure, just ask the owners.
SOY has plenty of well prepared meat substitute dish choices. Try different meals each time. This is also great for all people who eat meat- try these meals, you will be surprised. Some vegetarian friends found them too real, though. As alternative they also have basic tjap tjoy and tofu in tasty sauces.
You get a box full of noodles or rice and a box with the dish of your choice. The food comes in the typical boxes that will supply you with a filling meal of good value for the price. The only thing I don´t like are the plastic boxes, but also I have to admit that I forgot to ask for other options. Has anybody ever asked if you can bring your own/re-use boxes?
As in many other take-away places, you should pay cash. PIN per card is not possible, which is good to know beforehand. Also handy to know: They have the full menu on their website.
The owners are very warm and friendly people. You will feel welcome and can have a chat.
Pros: great take away, all vegetarian- majorly vegan, super friendly owners

We went here with 1 vegan, 1 vegetarian and 2 omnivores and we all enjoyed their delicious Asian vegan food very much! I most certainly want to go back there to try some more things from the menu. There was a lot to choose from and everything we tried was just jummy! I would definitely recommend Soy to others.

Read moreCalled in advance and the food was ready in 30 mins for pick up. It was a lot (we enjoyed it for 2 days) and it was very tasty. The chicken soup tasted very 'real' - and all the other dishes were great. Never been a big fan of the 'real' Chinese food, but this is definitely worth returning to.

We were looking for a good vegetarian restaurant which does not serve Indian food and Soy turned out to be a good option!! The imitation meat food with soya was quite tasty. Try the Satye and Soya with Chinese mushrooms! The staff was quite helpful and had an English menu too. But it is a small place, you need to book a table and they only accept cash. If you are keen on good ambiance, comfortable seating etc. then go for the take away. If you care more about the food and less of the rest, then you wont mind this place. For 30 EUR for 2 people it is quite a bargain considering the portion size and quality of food. Will recommend and will visit again too!!
