Lovely Mexican Food - Edit
If you’re tired of cooking food and want some wholesome vegan Mexican food.. this is the spot !
Read moreI found this place randomly on HappyCow because of all of y’all and decided to check it out.
When I arrived it seemed that the store was just opening for the day. I went closer to noon. I walked in and mentioned how I heard about this place for vegan food. And that I was looking for food to-go instead of eating in and she said no problem. The owner explained the meal would consist of soup, salad and a main dish. There isn’t really a menu it seems to pick from ? I didn’t even care what it was honestly and was up for the surprise ! She explained it would take about an hour as she had to go to another location to get it. No problem for us because we needed to go to the grocery store and would just come back after to pick it up.
After about an hour, we had just gotten back to the restaurant and she was just finishing it up. She put together a little bag with everything I needed including limes, hot sauce and dressing for the salad.
Made my way back to the RV park and could not wait to eat. Everything smelled so good. First I tried the corn soup, which I had never had before. It was so flavorful. The salad was standard with lettuce, cucumber, etc .. but with the freshest avocado and I loved the dressing. And as far as the main dish, I’m still not sure what to call it but I believe it was some type of torta ? It was filled with beans topped with veggies and the hot sauce was perfect with it. I was so full after and couldn’t be happier. I believe I paid about $12 USD for everything including tip. It was my first vegan Mexican experience in Baja and I’m so happy I went to this little gem.
Note this place is technically vegetarian so just state no cheese ! She did ask me otherwise I wouldn’t have known. But I did mention I was vegan. And she speaks pretty decent English so don’t feel like you won’t be able to communicate if you don’t speak Spanish ! I will be back !

Wholesome Mexican food - Edit
A heartfelt restaurant with wholesome Mexican food and flavors, but made vegan. Prices are very affordable. A great option in a small town with little else vegan, except buying produce in the local market. The restaurant is hard to find because it has no street address. It is on the right (north) side of the main road Emiliano Zapata coming into town. After you pass the cross-street of Gral. Guadalupe Victoria, it will be on the next block on your right. Look at the photos I post below to see that it looks like in front.

Grateful to find this place! - Edit
I was so desperate for vegan food on a whale watching trip I took that I walked 5k through the desert alone to find this place. I was so grateful when I walked in and the sweet woman cooking immediately sat me down and brought me water and snacks. I speak virtually so Spanish, so I was pathetically relying on translation apps everywhere I went. She absolutely took sympathy on me and just kept bringing things to the table til I was full.
Read moreThe food was wholesome and novel to me. It wasn’t like the Mexican food I can get in Texas, but it was exactly what I needed. Healthy and filling and more than just guacamole and lettuce I had been living off of for a week.
They barely charged me anything, I don’t remember what the total actually was, but I remember being shocked and laid down what I hope was an appropriate tip.
A little veggie oasis in the desert.
Pros: Homemade, fresh, wholesome food, Cute little cafe, Really welcoming hosts

Such a wonderful find in GN! - Edit
It feels like you’re in your moms kitchen and she cooks with love. I stopped in twice to enjoy her food and company. Well worth the stop. The food was so tasty and healthy. Made with love for sure. And then out to the old lighthouse another gem in GN.

A diamond in the desert! - Edit
We were so blessed to find this place! The owner is a gem!She is a beautiful, caring soul who was kind enough to open up her restaurant for us. When we arrived, the door was locked with a little sign written in Spanish, “Call this number and I’ll come open for you.” Yes, that’s my rough translation, sorry! We had to call her at the phone number posted on the sign, and we were so pleased to see her show up just a couple minutes later to provide us with a warm welcome and the yummiest meal we have had during our journey across Baja. It felt more like we were enjoying a meal at a family home due to the open design and calming energy of this darling establishment. The kitchen is at the heart of the restaurant, so we were able to watch our food being prepared. The restaurant only offers a small dining area with two tables, so it’s quite intimate and just perfect for a peaceful afternoon meal. We liked the food so much, we ordered three meals to go! This place should not be missed if you ever find yourself in the Guerrero Negro area. I wish there were more restaurants like this in the world. What a special experience!

Tasty but call before going for best experience - Edit
Guerrero Negro was our first stop in Mexico that had a vegetarian restaurant so we had to check it out.
Read moreSoy Salud felt more like being a guest in someone’s home than eating at a restaurant. We didn’t so much order from the menu but rather they just made us a meal.
We had a lovely colorful salad and potatoes, rice, and nopales (cactus) served with tortillas, salsa and chips for the main. Everything was tasty!
Check before you go because people keep random hours around here. We arrived during their posted open time but they hadn't started cooking yet.
Pros: Homey atmosphere, Delicious, fresh food, Lovely staff
Cons: Hours can be sporadic, Options are limited

Great dinner. No menu, just what was cooking and it was delicious. We Saud "no comemos queso" and Donna the owner left the cheese off. She speaks English and is super nice.
