Well-Rounded Menu - Edit
I ate here today for the first time as I was in the San Diego area visiting family. Offers counter service and the staff is very friendly! I was told their most popular items were the jackfruit burger and the reuben, so I had the reuben. The bread was grilled to perfection and it was filled with seitan, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing on rye, vegan-style! My mouth was very happy, as was my tummy! It was served with a side of kale chips that were seasoned with vinegar and sea salt. The staff's favorite juice was a citrus juice, which, I ordered and my taste buds were fully awakened with every sip I took! There were a variety of other items on the menu that I would guess would be equally as satisfying. I recommend this place!

Vegan Comfort Food! - Edit
Nine family members, including our 15-month-old grandson, enjoyed lunch today at Soy Leaf - Magnolia, taking over the 8-seat bar-height table. The owner, Melanie Arce, has done a great job refurbishing her folk's former BBQ grill into a 100% vegan comfort-food eatery. She even has highchairs and booster seats for youngsters. Boasting front (sidewalk) and back (parking lot) entrances with a rear covered and screened outdoor patio. Of everything we ordered, the Reubens and BLTs were the most raved about, not to mention the warmed cinnamon rolls covered with icing. It's so nice to have a downtown El Cajon eatery so our East County relatives don't have to always come out our way (downtown San Diego) to dine with us.
