Not as vegan friendly as they seem - Edit
Came here for lunch after seeing on Happy Cow that they had vegan options. We inquired about vegan options and double-checked when ordering that what we chose was actually vegan, but we were still served non-vegan coleslaw with our food. I asked about it and was told it had been put there by mistake. I was not offered a new plate, so I couldn’t finish my meal as I didn’t want to eat the food that had touched the coleslaw. Both the burger and the baked potato came with coleslaw. Also note that not all the items marked vegan on the menu are actually vegan. For example, the soup and focaccia were not vegan. I don’t recommend this place and would probably not go back, even if I happened to be in the area again.

Tasty vegan options - Edit
We visited Sound Bites in June 2025 for lunch. They had just run of soup when we arrived but there were a few other options on the menu including a vegan burger and laded fries with vegan chilli. The server was lovely and said the kitchen would be happy to adapt anything else on the menu we fancied. We both opted for the loaded fries and they were very good - freshly made chips with what tasted like home made chilli. The server told us that they had vegan chocolate orange cake available that day so we tried that and it was delicious. They have a vegan breakfast on the menu but sadly we weren't able to visit again but we'll definitely try that next time we're in the area.

Beautiful spot - Edit
Gorgeous views of the small isles. Lots of clearly marked vegan options on the menu: full breakfast, soups, fritters, loaded fries, burger etc. Also have DF ice cream and milks, plus salted caramel milkshake and coffees, smoothies etc.

It was lovely to come across Sound Bites. Bright, lively and clean with clearly marked vegan options and nice staff. Breakfast and coffee were tasty. Will definitely visit again when I'm back in this part of the country!
