Brunch buffet

The staff was helpful and friendly. Cute vegan dine in restaurant. The food was delicious. They are not soy free. For two buffets we spent about $35.
Cute place for vegan singles to meet

Pros: All vegan , Black owned , Free parking

Cons: Soy options

Good vegan soul food

A classic vegan soul food spot with plenty of tasty options. The atmosphere was good & the employees were very welcoming. I got there a little late so all of the other entrees were gone…. but I was still able to get a good meal. 1 thing I like about

Pros: Lots of Vegan options

The best!

Had the pleasure of discovering this wonderful gem while lost looking for another place. Not sure if the food or the people are the best. Don hooked me up with a bunch of samples and then a huge plate of assorted vegan delights.

Pros: All Vegan , Friendly staff

I was actually laughing while I was eating

Bean burrito smothered with ketchup, rice with gravy, the driest piece of cornbread I've ever had and mac and cheese that was almost as dry as the cornbread and the noodles were so overcooked you couldn't eat it with a fork. Like JUST refried beans in a tortilla and all of the ketchup. The Mac actually had excellent flavor, I'd like to try it cooked properly and not so dry. Maybe it was near closing and I just got all the leftovers? Not sure why HC won't allow 1 star. I understand they get a star for supporting veg life but I'm not trying to give them a second star for that meal.

Pros: Mac had excellent flavor

Delicious!

Delicious food, we had the mac n cheese, collards, curried tofu and corn bread. Check out the vegan bakery nextdoor too! All the satisfaction of traditional soul food but not a ton of added sugar so we left feeling full but like we'd had a healthier meal. The staff and co-owner Don went above and beyond. Also a nice spacious environment to eat in. Excellent!

Pros: Great mac n cheese, Spacious restaurant , Kind staff

Delicious but expect to spend time

This place suffers with a problem that a lot of Atlanta vegan spots do which is that the food is so delicious that I keep coming back and forgetting that I experienced the worst service of my life. This is also more of a management issue than an employee issue because it’s clear that they only schedule one person to run the entire floor when the restaurant is packed.

Great place

For breakfast...I can say that the biscuits are very VERY well made, as well as the sausages and everything else. I would give this place a 4.5/5 but only because the pancakes are not spiced to make it really taste like anything other than sweet. Another thing is that they sometimes won't tell you the deals, or that you can get a few more items and pay only a little more, but since you didn't know, you end up paying more for less. But overall its actually a really decent place. Especially on Sunday breakfast.

But to be honest they shouldn't even serve dinner or lunch anymore since no. 2 exists. They should just serve breakfast or brunch only and make it niche (make sure to include the biscuits in the menu!) Also, if this location would only offer more pancake types like cinnamon swirl or blueberry something (maybe even custom made to order pancakes), and cook grittier grits, as well as expand on its breakfast "meat" options it would really be a main choice of breakfast -or brunch if they decide to go the route I recommend. It's a good place on the other days too, but tbh it only stands out on breakfast. To many vegan spots already offer lunch/dinner, mac and cheese plates. But not many offer decent breakfast or can go the distance with a good brunch menu.

I even think there is only 5 or so vegan spots in ATL that do breakfast at all. I would capitalize on that.

But at the same time they do have a very very good salad bar during lunch time that i crave.

Pros: Versatile, Back to the roots, Creative

Closed when their sign said open.

Not much else to say, but, they were closed when I got there during business hours. Doors locked.

Cons: Closed when their sign said open.

Mac and Cheese

I tried them in the past at VegFest but I can only remember my opinion on the mac and cheese and I unfortunately didn't enjoy because it has a sweet taste. The people I was with really liked it though so it just depends on the person.

Not for everyone

While I wanted to love this place, it’s not for everyone. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but the employees are very friendly.

The food was just okay. We are not from the south and don’t know what non-vegan southern food tastes like in comparison.

Casual, Mostly Vegan “Soul Food”

The BBQ tofu and the vegan “mac and cheese” are super good. And they have vegan ice cream!

Like it, Can’t Love

Loving this place is a catch 22. I’m all about community support in the West End. My favorite thing about this business is they’re owned by the Hebrew Israelites. They serve only vegan/vegetarian food. The Mac n Cheese is so tasty that I keep returning. Veggie Plate w/ an extra side was $18
Always professional and when I asked about the side item price and portion the lady gave me more. My greens were burnt and bland. I’d like more sweetness and spices added to the sweet potatoes.

Pros: Mac N Cheese , Natural seasoning on the table , Clean

Cons: Expensive , Parking is for CVS , Portions

Excellent food and service

We’ve been to many veg restaurants across the country and this was the best quiche I’ve had. The mac&cheese, coleslaw salad, and sides were very good as well. Next door is a vegan bakery related to this establishment and we had similar great experiences. The key lime pie was one of the best we’ve ever had and the strawberry cake was excellent.

Bbq tofu best ever

I've been going to soul vegetarian for about 20 years! The bbq tofu is the best hands down!!! The salads are really good too. They prince dressing and the cornbread yes are good.

Pros: Great food and location. In the heart of west end

Cons: They have 2 locations but the west end location is, better.

Best southern brunch!

I’ve only been here for brunch, but it’s everything I could ask for. They do brunch on Sundays from 10-2, and your options include pancakes, biscuits, grits, potatoes, tofu scramble, house-made veggie sausage, and seaweed croquettes. It’s amazing and honestly one of the best vegan brunch options in Atlanta.

Pros: Affordable , Friendly service

Country Kalebone

Wife had the brunch special, and I did the country fried kalebone with mac-n-cheese and collared greens. Very tasty!

Super, super tasty!

Food was exceptional. I had tofu crusted triangles, sweet potato, collard greens, and cornbread. It still tasted soul food like in lieu of being plant based (probably all in the seasoning). Service was also great and the ambience puts you in a 1940s/50s Black owned eatery. Would definitely recommend!

Pros: I believe everything’s vegan! No worries there!, Located near Ponce, a vegan friendly area

Average vegan options

My boyfriend and I care here, I ordered the country baked steak that was made out of wheat protein and it was saturated in gravy. My boyfriend had the barbecue cauliflower which wasn’t bad but also not the best we’ve ever had either. Glad we came but also not sure if we’d be back.

excellent flavorful brunch

This is by far one of my favorite places for brunch in atlanta. Their pancakes are moist with crispy edges. they do a version of “salmon croquette” called seaweed croquette that will keep you coming back for more. tofu scramble is delicious too. i love that they serve alkaline water as well.

Pros: brunch, dinner , lunch

Generous Portions but a bit Pricey

I love that I am now able to get soul food again. The sweet potatoes were great and the faux meat was delicious. I will say that the meal was a bit pricey and the service was a bit meh but I will be going again.

Pros: Vegan Soul Food, Established Restaurant, Sizable Portions

Cons: Service is so-so, Pricey

Great Food, great atmosphere

I’m a regular at this restaurant and despite what others say, the service is GREAT. Soul Vegetarian has been a staple in the Community for decades and continues to provide healthy options for vegetarians and vegans alike.

Not for the more advanced

They use a lot of soy based products which is great for those just beginning on their journey that are desiring lots of mock products, but not good for those that prefer more whole foods based meals.

They have been servicing the community for a long time which is honorable but sadly the menu isnt friendly enough to those who dont want their food filled with soy and wheat.

Pros: Its an option

Cons: too much soy and wheat
