Thai-licious - Edit
We came here for our 3rd Anniversary dinner, it did not disappoint at all! We’ve been seeing the hype about this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious! It was so difficult trying to pick what to eat! We definitely over ordered and left with fully happy bellies. If you are a vegan visiting Edinburgh, this needs to be the first place you come to!

Amazing vegan Malysian!! - Edit
Yummm, this place was one of our favorites in Edinburgh!! We arrived more than 45 minutes early for our reservation, but they were very accommodating and sat us right away (definitely make a reservation!)
Read moreWe got the laksa, which I had heard so much about, and one of their specials - nasi lemak with a potato curry.
The nasi lemak was great - the potato curry was very savory and the slightly spicy tofu and green beans and pickled vegetables were also great complements. However the laksa was the stand-out for me. It was everything I wanted in a Malaysian curry - slightly spicy and so delicious. The char siu on top was a wonderful addition as well. If I lived in Edinburgh, I'd come back all the time! Also I have to mention the food came SO FAST.
EDIT: Came back and the food was just as good! My omni friend said the bbq rice dish with vegan meat was the best vegan meat he's ever had

An excellent dinner with a great view of Arthur's seat. The staff were all lovely and work really hard. This restaurant is really good and therefore really popular. We attended during the fringe and the queues were massive. Definitely book in advance. It's worth it!

Yum! - Edit
Great food and very fast and friendly staff. We ordered the gan lau mee and two BBQ combination rice. Both were good but the rice dish was definitely the favourite.
Read moreMy partner has a nut allergy and the waitress assured us when we ordered that there is a garnish on top of the noodles which is fried garlic rather than nuts. This reassurance was lovely because we usually have to ask and clarify this ourselves at most restaurants. Very thoughtful ☺️

Best Asian Restaurant in Edinburgh! - Edit
Heard great thing and wanted to try it for a while, and they didn't disappoint!
Read moreEvery dish were full of flavour and so delicious!
Had there Gan Lau Mee noodles. The vegan "pork" was the best I've ever had! It was out of this world!
I tried my friends crispy pancakes. Since turning vegan, I've always missed the crispy duck pancakes, and this vegan version was amazing! I've had these before in other restaurants but Soul Vegan's one has been my favourite! They use crispy bean curd skins which gives a great texture and the flavours were spot on!
To end the meal, I had the banana fritter with caramel ice cream. Outstanding ice cream went really well with the warm crispy fritters.
I need to come back again to try the rest of the menu 😁
Pros: Vegan "pork", Cirpsy Pancakes, Friendly

best vegan restaurant in Edinburgh - Edit
The best vegan restaurant in Edinburgh, in our opinion! We had great luck, as we still managed to get a table and were there on a less busy day. The staff was super friendly and helpful; they immediately asked about allergies. My boyfriend has a nut allergy, and although a lot of the dishes had nuts in them, they could make almost everything without nuts for us. We loved the food and the service, and would definitely recommend it to everybody when visiting Edinburgh!

Had a fantastic dinner here. I am not a fan of fake meat but tried their seitan “vegan pork” and it was phenomenal, so flavourful without being meaty to an off-putting level. We had a lovely dessert too.

Tasty stuff! - Edit
Such a range of different options, good portion size and extremely reasonable price! The vegan 'pork' was very tasty.
Read moreThe pudding of deep fried sweet potato balls I found a bit stodgy and savoury but the ice cream was nice.
Food came extremely quickly (after about 5 minutes!) I'd definitely return to try other dishes when next in Edinburgh.
Definitely book a table as there was a queue of walk ins waiting outside. Inside is very small and a bit cramped you're basically sat right next to the adjacent table. It can get very warm in there. Service felt a bit rushed after we'd finished as they wanted to get the next guests in. You get 1hr30min for your booking.

Wow. This place is amazing. It's advisable to book a table in peak tourist season otherwise you may join the queue outside.

What's to say - the food is evidently spectacular here.
Read moreI got the laksa due to very insistent recommendations and I'm glad I did - it was DIVINE. The tofu stuff on top was insanely tasty!
We also got mapo tofu, salt and pepper lotus crisps, and pineapple rice (very chargrilled, delicious flavour - I recommend it!). Finished with banana fritters 😍
Absolutely gorgeous meal! 65 quid for the lot (we only had water to drink as we didn't fancy alcohol or any other drinks). The service is very attentive and they fill water cups very regularly which was really appreciated!

AMAZING ASIAN FOOD 😍 - Edit
Decided to go here after seeing all the great ratings whilst on a trip to Edinburgh and the food was amazing !! 💚 Our group chose the nasi lemak and aromatic pancakes from the specials board, the lion’s mane rendang, and shared tofu satay and spring rolls. The staff were very friendly and we loved our meals, I really enjoyed my nasi lemak but it would’ve been even better with less curry and more sambal beancurd. The portion sizes were huge !!

This is one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh! Also one of the very few places that is fully vegan but not based on processed fake meats which I know a lot of people like but isn’t to my taste. Food here is incredible, super tasty. Non vegans I’ve brought always love it too.

Great place, tasty food - Edit
We had a terrific meal here tonight. Malaysian vegan menu. Food was absolutely delicious. Fairly extensive menu with a daily specials board as well. Inside and outside seating, food arrives quickly. Very friendly staff. Tap water given as soon as we arrived and topped up throughout our meal without asking. Choice of beers a little limited, it would have been nice to have the choice of Asian beers.

Disappointing main - Edit
The vibe of the place is excellent, but the tables are too close. It felt quite cramped at least in the part of the restaurant where we were seated.
Read moreWe ordered two dishes. Katsu curry with oyster mushroom (which was EXCELLENT and would deserve a 5/5 review) and the "Special deep-fried tofu" which came with a mushroom sauce. Here's where the problems start. They say it is a main dish, but the amount they serve is extremely small. Mains should be almost a full meal for most people, if not something that you could order by itself and call it a day. I do not eat extreme amounts and this dish was too little. It could be a good side to share, definitely not a main. I think they know about it and that is why they insist on you buying side rice. But shouldn't that be part of the meal if it is a requirement? The side of rice you must pay, which adds 5£ to the bill and makes the dish overall 20£. I think this is too much money for something that was not particularly impressive taste-wise either. It was okay, but the mushroom sauce did not taste or much at all, and the tofu was well coated and fried but also had nothing special too it.
I left quite disappointed and honestly felt like it was a bit dishonest.
