Cosy vegan cafe - Edit
Recently popped into Soul Sisters Cafe in Camberwell for a bite, and it did not disappoint! This cosy little vegan gem is conveniently located just across the road from Camberwell train station. Their menu is packed with options, from acai bowls and smoothies to hearty toasties. I decided to go for the Burger Toastie, which was loaded with a juicy burger patty, pickles, vegan cheese, and a handful of other ingredients that just hit the spot perfectly!
Read moreWhile I didn't get to try more of the menu this time around, it’s clear they've got something for everyone – tofu scramble breakfast, soups, buddha bowls, acai, smoothies, toasties, and even a selection of takeaway treats. It's awesome to see such variety available. Definitely a top vegan spot to check out when you're in the area!
Pros: Great menu variety, Friendly staff

Been here before when visiting the area and had to come back! I got the tofu scramble and Ahhhspresso smoothie.
Read moreStaff are super friendly and prices are a lot cheaper than I thought! Great value for money.
There is a full brekky menu, smoothie bowl, smoothie menu, brunch menu, fresh juices, toasties, coffees, slice cabinet & pies / rolls! Such an extensive menu with great vegan variety, and the service was super quick.
The sunny spot in the corner was the best.
Pros: Super friendly staff, Extensive menu, Value for money

Nice drinks and menu but basic nachos - Edit
The cafe is small inside but we managed to get a seat in the corner and there were some bench seats available. I ordered a soy flat white and nachos. My partner has the cheeseburger toastie and a snickers smoothie. Vegan items are clearly marked on the menu.
Read moreMy coffee was nice and a decent size. The snickers smoothie was very nice. I thought my nachos were very basic though. Corn chips, with avocado, a tomato sauce, vegan cheese (not much of the cheese) and pieces of corn. I opted for the sour cream but I probably wouldn’t bother next time. It was fine but not amazing. I know that’s what nachos are but I’ve had better nachos with more flavour.
My partner enjoyed the cheeseburger toastie.
An option if you are in the area.

Lots of choice - Edit
I love that there is so much to choose from but what we had was a bit bland. I ordered the avocado toastie with the lot and my partner had the mushroom meatball toastie. Both were good but not very flavorful. My iced soy latte was also pretty bland. Still , not a bad option if you are in Camberwell. The açaí bowls looked tempting.

Friendly Staff and Amazing Food - Edit
I dropped by just before closing and they were very accommodating. The peppered steak pie was incredible, full of flavour and crisp pastry. The Berry Açai bowl was fresh and delicious. My soy late was creamy and just what I needed.

Cute little place with a great vibe and really friendly staff. They do a really good mocha, and the peppered steak pie is fantastic! I wouldn’t get the breakfast jaffle again but they can’t all be winners

Nice atmosphere but food underwhelming - Edit
We enjoyed the light-filled venue with a cosy spot to sit in the corner, staff were nice and service was quick. Unfortunately the food was disappointing with the burger not very exciting, the waffle so hard I had trouble cutting them and the muffin alright but not exceptional. I am pleased there’s a place with vegan food available in the neighbourhood, but I think they need to work to improve the food quality.

I’d go there for the muffin since vegan muffins are hard to find!

Just not good - Edit
We returned here, again after a visit to Camberwell market, in the hope that I could give a better review than last time. Unfortunately not. We ordered a schnitzel toastie and a peppered steak pie. The pie was quite nice, but the sandwich was not only lacking flavour but also very dry. In a moment of deja vu my companion had to spread some of the tomato sauce accompanying the pie on to the toastie to moisten it (as had been necessary with the burger on our last visit). I wanted something else and so ordered the mushroom pie. Instead of being creamy as described, it contained a gluggy bechamel sauce, which was not very pleasant. I’m pretty confident in saying that, although the savory food here is quite cheap, it is consistently mediocre minus.

Great little vegan cafe - Edit
Discovered this cafe a couple of weeks ago. It's small but light and airy and appeared to be very popular. A mix of clientele came to eat in or take away, from tradesmen to students to older folks. It was great to see such a mix of people enjoying vegan food. We had the Acai Oats and the Soul Porridge and both were hot, delicious and filling. Coffee was great too. The price was very reasonable at $14 for each dish. The staff were very pleasant also. I dropped one star because our food was served in take away pots with plastic spoons which seemed a bit strange as we were eating in. I hope they stop using these non recyclable items as they are so bad for the planet. We live local so will definitely be back as I was eyeing up the delicious looking cakes but was just too full to try them on this occasion.

Cons: Plastic lined paper pots, Plastic single use spoons
