Lovely fresh vegan food relaxed atmosphere - Edit

Lovely food, I had the raw platter and my partner had the falafel burger. Both meals were freshly made and delicious. The vibe is very chilled and friendly.
Plunger coffee with homemade almond milk was delicious.

Tasty, fresh plant food. - Edit

Delicious buckwheat, miso and mushroom noodles.

There were limited food choices on the day I attended because they had been busy preparing food for locals affected by the dreadful fires a few days early. It was pleasing to hear they had stepped up and were helping the community.

Before the noodles I had a raw dish with courgette, sun dried tomato pesto and macadamia cheese which was tasty.

After the noodles I had a raw chocolate torte and a rather nice turmeric tea made with almond milk.

I waited a while for my food as there was only one person serving when I arrived but I didn't mind and it was worth the wait. The staff were friendly.

Fresh and tasty food.

Pros: quality ingredients , unusual food options

Cons: long wait for food, no menus (I wasn't given one), no name sign outside so easy to miss it

scrumptious, much-needed vegan spot in hout bay - Edit

I had my second meal at Soul Foods today and tried the aubergine potato bake and the falafel burger. the plates are packed with food - much more food than other vegan spots in cape town for very reasonable prices. everything is freshly prepared, the desserts are to die for, and I will be returning again and again. spacious outdoor seating with a peaceful ambience. because it is small run, my friend and I felt so comfortable finding out about specific ingredients - everyone is super helpful in determining what kind of food you want (raw vs. cooked, heavy vs. light, and i'm more than sure no oil alternatives can be discussed). a friend I came here with a few weeks ago has a nut allergy, but the folks at soul foods were phenomenally knowledgeable about ingredients and very accommodating, even with desserts. the menu fluctuates, which is wonderful news for me, as i plan to come back often and never get bored. 10/10 would recommend - without a doubt one of the best vegan restaurants in cape town!

Best Vegan Food - Edit

Whow what a culinary delight, such beautiful freshness and flavours. Lovely energy makes you feel like you are on holiday watching the world go by. This duo is producing some lovely innovative dishes to tantalize our taste buds. I loved it, actually I licked the plate clean. Beautiful juices, smoothies and super yummy raw carrot cake and chocolate torte, and now the falafel burger has made its way onto the menu. Bravo I found my regular spot again. Truly blessed. So grateful. Thank you.

Pros: Great food, Wonderful vibe., Great Value

Cons: Gets hit by the wind, Communal seating, No signage

Not worth the money - Edit

The food was bad. That's the only way to describe it. Worst food I have had in my life. And the owner was quite rude after i expressed my disliking of her food. If you want something vegan that is actually edible, go somewhere else.

Pros: the beach Is nearby

Cons: it tastes awful , way to expensive for what you get

mishlobel 22 Feb 2017 - I can appreciate it may not be what you are used to yet the food at Soul Foods is not bad at all it is seriously great and I mean double great. I have never had such delicious food in my life and I have been around for a while. It is for me the best vegan food in the western cape. In terms of organic produced food it is actually very reasonable indeed. I feel you really have done them an injustice with your post yet the truth will always prevail.
