Absolutely wonderful little gem, we're so lucky to have Soul Foods in Alford. I just wish it was bigger so more of us could get in there .

What a wonderful welcoming cafe, was greeted by a lovely lady and gentleman (not sure of their name’s), who where more than happy to have a natter and make one feel at home 😊

On street parking for 30mins only, alternatively there’s free parking next to the Co-op opposite the church.

I was delighted to find a fully vegetarian cafe on my travels into Lincolnshire and even more happy to learn that every item on the menu was vegan by default! There was a spectacular range of sweets and savouries, and the owners were chatty and friendly as well as the other customers. We were able to bring our dog inside, and paid less than £30 for two meals, desserts and a drink. 5 ⭐’s!

Excellent food and service, ordered coffees with oat milk and the bruschetta with vegan feta. Food and coffee were delicious and served quickly. Will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

Delicious food and warm welcome - Edit
We visited Soul Foods today and loved it. My husband and I both had a main course followed by a cake and thoroughly enjoyed the food which was really fresh. We liked it so much we bought take out for later which was equally delicious. So nice to find such a great vegan cafe while holidaying in the area.

Lovely little cafe with a warm welcome. I rang ahead on our way to the coast to order a takeaway and they were more than happy to oblige. They explained all the food is made vegan (but they have dairy/egg to add for those who aren’t vegan). Varied and interesting menu, I opted for the rarebit toast which had apple along with cheeze on the toast, accompanied by a delicious chutney. Good value and decent portion. I also took one of the scrummy looking cakes with me too, nice and moist and tasty. Look forward to returning one day for the Ploughmans lunch. Friendly owner/staff. Free on street parking (time limited). Dogs allowed at the front of the cafe.

Had super coffee and cake with our dog. Had a lovely chat with the owner when she checked all was ok with us. Everything is home made even the dog treats. Menu changes daily which is fab.

Friendly service providing an ever changing menu. Vegan options galore as well as dairy choices. Eat in or take out, you can ring through your order in advance too so it's ready to collect- especially helpful with sandwiches/ specials😄
Read moreOnly downside is the limited wheelchair access, one step up from street level and then no access to W/C as that's stepped again. You need a helpful companion with you to get you up the first step into the cafe and there's 3/4 tables at that level to choose from- it's worth it!

We appreciate that the wheelchair access is difficult, and a member of the Soul Foods team is always happy to assist customers negotiating the step. also, booking ahead of a visit will enable us to allocate a table with more space to accommodate a wheelchair. Unfortunately, we are unable to do anything about the middle step to allow access to the WC. However there are disabled WC facilties at the Manor House opposite and also at the Public toilets in the main carpark.

A Breath of Fresh (Food) Air!! - Edit
What a breath of fresh air this lovely bistro is for the area. A welcoming environment with lovely staff and amazing fresh food and all cooked on the premises with seasonal ingredients. A menu that changes daily (with their signature Soul Foods Salad) and a huge array of the most tempting cakes and bakes - all vegan! What a treat to have such choice and all absolutely delicious! Generous portions and reasonable prices, takeaway or eat in - it’s the kind of place you can meet with friends or feel equally comfortable on your own, highly recommend a visit 💚
