Good selection of vegan foods

Went for the Vegan Buddha Bowl. Nice mix of veg and the homemade flatbread was tasty. Very friendly staff and it’s nice to be able to enjoy it sitting outside.

Just Ok

Lovely outdoor seating and a lot of vegan options on the menu. The food was a bit bland and boring, I wish they were
a bit more creative with sauces, spices etc. We tried to order a cocktail bur it was TERRIBLE ...

Pros: Lots of vegan options, something for everybody, Chill vibe and outdoor seating

Cons: Terrible cocktails, Bland food

Ok, but not amazing (review for end february 2019)

It's a popular tourist restaurant and seems to constantly be overcrowded.
It was ok I guess, but we didn't feel super comfortable. The whole concept is very commercialized and hyped, with no time for actually engaging with the place and the staff, but rather finishing your food so somebody else can take your place. Might have just been the day, but our experience was mäh.

I had the Tofu Buddha Bowl (vegan, 13,80 €) with tofu marinated with soy sauce and ginger, sesame seeds, seasoned vegetables, asian coleslaw (raw salad), homemade vegan majo and piadina. Tasted alright, especially the tofu was nice, but otherwise the dish was not memorable.
My companion had a homemade vegetarian piadina, not sure which one any more.

Pros: food was alright, vegan options available

Cons: overcrowded, staff very busy and stressed, rather pricey

Delicious vegan food, price and service let it down

The food here is really nice - i actually came here twice while in Malta with my omni GF mum and there were options for both of us. The lentil burger Buddha bowl was particularly good - though mainly because of the variety of veggies and the flatbread, rather than the actual lentil burger!

I would say though that the food is overpriced: €13,80 for a Buddha bowl, €11,80 for vegan pasta and €9,80 for a piadina (essentially a glorified sandwich). Non vegan options were also cheaper than their vegan equivalent... and to replace bread with gluten free bread cost €2,50.

Most of the waiting staff are friendly, so I feel a bit mean saying service could be improved, but the man who I assume is the manager really needs a crash course in customer service. No more than 1 minute after ordering I wanted to alter my order but was just met with a borderline rude “no” rather than any polite explanation why. I didn’t see him smile once, say thank you/you’re welcome or any other general pleasantries to us or any other customers which just brought down the whole experience a notch. In general we also found them to be quite inflexible with regards to what could be made vegan or gluten free (e.g. by removing cheese or removing bread).

At the end we were also almost short changed €10 but my mum noticed, so make sure to check your change...

Pros: Several vegan options, Food is delicious

Cons: Expensive, Customer service

Excellent food & service with outdoor seating

We've been twice and tried different items. Everything was fresh and delicious. The outdoor seating under umbrellas in a breezy street is the ideal location for an outdoor lunch in Malta. Still too hot, head upstairs to the cool AC interior. The staff are very friendly and vegan savvy. 3 out of their 4 desserts were vegan.

Pros: Reasonably priced, friendly staff, outdoor seating

Tasty but Pricey

I went to Soul Food because I had no others option, but it turned out to be a great find in Valletta. Although I thought that the vegan menu was a bit pricey, the piadina with avocado and hummus was delicious! When I finished it, I had to control myself to not order a new one.
If you happen to be in Valletta's city center and have some time and money to spare, I totally recommend it!

Pros: Good menu with vegan options, Homemade piadina, Delicious and nutritious

Cons: Expensive

Great vegan food!

We loved this place. Centrally located, outdoor seating with a mister to stay cool, and great food! Vegan items clearly marked on menu, they had a chalkboard sign saying VEGAN FOOD and knew what it meant etc.

Pros: Vegan options, Outdoor seating, Good drinks

Cons: No indoor seating if hot

Great Vegan Sandwiches

Soul Food was a great find in Valetta, as there are not many places catering for vegans, so we went for lunch. There was plenty seating undercover to get some respite from the hot sun, but you could also sit outside if you wished.

There are plenty vegan options on the menu, with a couple of desserts and even clearly labelled vegan wine on the list too. We both chose avocado piadina without the vegan mayonnaise for me and on gluten free bread for hubby
.
The sandwiches were packed with filling, no skimping here and as I love avocado and houmous, it was pretty much my favourite sandwich. The piadina is a traditional locally made flatbread and hubby thought the gluten free bread was amazing and when we had a chat with the owner, he said they had tried nine different gluten free breads, before he was happy to serve it at Soul Food.

Soul Food is an oasis for vegans in Valleta and is highly recommended.

Pros: Vegan options, Vegan desserts

Delicious

The food isn't bad and staff are very friendly, I gotta get this out of the way first.

In my opinion it's one of those typical touristy places and I did miss "soul" aspect about their food. The fact that they offer several vegan options doesn't mitigate the fact that they serve flesh too. I guess you can stretch the term Ayurvedic these days.

We did really enjoy our food, even though it might have been a bit pricy.

Worst meal I've had in ages!

Watered down strawberry nesquick and a lentil burger that looked like cat meat in a wrap with a smidge of limp salad and something yellow that oozed out. Terrible!

Cons: Disgusting food., Over priced., Watery milkshake.

Bland and overpriced

Had two types of pasta and some soft drinks.

There's not much choice if you want a warm vegan meal. The portions were a bit a bit small for price and tastes bland. Staff wasnt very attentive but the localisation was good.

Tasty and colorful

I was gladly surprised when my Tofu Buddha Bowl arrived to my table. There was plenty of flavors and food, actually I was not able to eat all of it.
There were several vegan options that looked interesting to try.
I recommend this place also if going with non-vegans, my friend enjoyed it.

Pros: Several vegan options

Overpriced and mediocre

Overpriced for what was to say the least a mediocre pasta dish. Beer was around 4 times the cost of the local beer which was not available. Disappointing.

Healthy vegan food

Clearly labelled vegan options.

More health food rather than junk food.

Loved the tofu Buddha bowl! The marinated tofu was soft rather than firm as I usually have it but it made a nice change and was delicious with the bread, hummus and veggies. Perfect for lunch.

Seating is outdoors in an enclosed tent (as are the other restaurants in that street).

Pros: Clearly labelled vegan food, Delicious Buddha bowls

Cons: A bit expensive

QUALITY HOME MADE FOOD

It's a great restaurant which propose quality home made food (pasta,deserts,soups...)
I advice you trying the ayurvedic soup 👌
The Italien Staff is very friendly and comprehensive.

They propose several varieties of Italien drinks (kind of lemonades)

All that in a chill atmosphere 👌

Nice place

Went here only once, had a really good budda bowl.
Most of the menu is vegetarian or vegan, they have a couple of meat dishes so it's not 100% Vegeterian.
The restaurant is quite small and was really crowded. It was quite upsetting seeing people who arrived there after me, being accommodated before me.

Pros: good food, right price

Cons: staff not that friendly

An ok experience

Went there twice during my stay in Valletta. The first time was nice (had Buddha bowl), the second time not really. The place was very busy and because I was alone I wasn’t allowed to occupy a table. Instead I was told to sit inside at a counter of sorts where the staff were running back and forth behind my back. Also, the music was very loud. The Mediterranean pasta wasn’t very tasty either.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: A small place that can get busy

Buddha bowl was good!

My girlfriend and I pinned this as somewhere we wanted to go for lunch. It definitely feels more lunchy than dinner. The vegan buddha bowl is great - a sauce would be my only suggestion for it. The hummus is good, but something else to dip into would be a bonus. Other than that, i would highly recommend visiting this place if you're looking for a vegan bite to eat in Valletta!

Pros: Healthy, Options

Cons: None

Healthy but better for vegetarians than vegans

We had a Buddha bowl and a lentil burger. Both were tasty and healthy. However they do lactose free cheese but not vegan cheese. They also do egg pasta dishes but no vegan pasta. I found this strange as dried pasta and vegan cheese are so easy to obtain nowadays and would broaden their menu for vegans so substantially. Worth a visit but I'm not inclined to go repeatedly.
