Decent pizzas, amazing cheesecake

The place is very nice and cozy the staff is friendly, but it is also a very small place, so book in advance to make sure you get the table.
Definitely try the cheesecake

Best Italian I’ve ever had!

This place is truly special. The Suppli Romani and Gnocchi alla Sorrentina are my two favorite things on the menu. Highly recommend the tiramisu as well! Both times I ate here were excellent!

Best Italian Food in Edinburgh

The truffle gnocchi was the best gnocchi dish I have ever had. Taste, presentation, temperature and abundance of flavour were all 10/10. Can’t wait to go back again.

A decadent treat

We had a great experience at this tiny Italian spot. I had one of the gnocchi options, my husband had the penne a la vodka. Of the two, the gnocchi was more memorable. We also shared a rocket salad which was the perfect balance for the heavy pasta dishes. I definitely recommend reservations!

Average at best

Wouldn‘t really recommend and can‘t understand the overwhelming reviews. My husband had the „quattro formaggi e funghi“, which was okay, but we already had two better pizzas in Edinburgh (one even in a non-vegan Restaurant). The spaghetti cacio e pepe was just bad to be onest. No taste of parmesan or cheese at all, just a creamy sauce like one you would by at a supermarket.

Superb!!!!

Omg! My dinner was stupendous! I had the Mezze Maniche All’ Amatriciana and it was fantastic! Dessert special was Crostata Nocciole Arancia which was divine. We started with the Bruschetta al Pomodoro - excellent!

Delicious

The food is worth all the praise and hype given! Fresh, large portions, and great service. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was subpar. For the price I’d expect a classy vibe with mood lighting. Instead it’s more like an old diner that needs a paint job. Would order takeout, but not eat in again

Pros: Food, Service

Cons: Decor, Atmosphere , Price

Your average Italian - just vegan and overpriced

Noodles and tiramisu were nothing special, really. Most regular Italians will make better vegan pasta if you ask for it...

Lovely food

Shared the carbonara and meat free pizza. Food was all lovely and tasty. Some items were saltier than my personal preference. Desserts were ok but not as good as mains. It was a little pricey side though.

Total rip-off

I ordered a takeaway margherita pizza and asked to add mushrooms. There were no prices on the menu for toppings so I assumed it would just be a reasonable charge. When it came to paying they added £3.90 for the mushrooms. The pizza came to around £20. I was completely gobsmacked and questioned this. The server looked very sheepish, and said that he thinks it’s a crazy price for mushrooms as well but didn’t do anything about it. I was too embarrassed not to pay and to just leave the pizza but I would never return as it just felt like they were fleecing customers for what they could get.
I’m from London so used to high prices but this is something else - around double the price of a pizza in Purezza which is an outstanding vegan pizza place in London. Maybe they just thought I was a tourist passing through and that they may as well charge what they can get.

Pros: Pizza was ok

Authentic Italian food

The food was absolutely amazing. The vegan cheese was very good, melted well and the Quattro formaggi pizza tasted really nice. The desserts were also a treat. Rather expensive but worth it.

Pros: Pizza, Vegan cheese, Friendly staff

BEST VEGAN ITALIAN EVER

Incredible! Managed to get a last minute booking here after eyeing up the menu and it was what dreams are made of! My non-vegan partner and I shared the meat feast pizza and the gnocchi salsiccia et crema tartufata! The pizza had LOADS of unique plant based “meats” on it and the gnocchi was one of the best pastas I’ve ever eaten - don’t think I’ve ever had anything that good even pre-vegan! Finished off with an aperol spritz because it would’ve been rude not to! Tucked away slightly off the city centre but absolutely worth the extra few steps to get there! I can’t wait to return!

Pros: variety and choice, taste, service

Very disappointing experience re. allergens

Brought my 6 year old son who has a number of food allergies here today. He was really excited that I’d found a place that did vegan and gluten free pizzas. Gave the waiter a list of his allergies which they checked in with the chef about - so far, so good. The waiter then returned to say that the chef was “a bit worried” about catering for him as there are pine-nuts in quite a number of dishes. He confirmed that these weren’t into the pepperoni (DF, VG, GF) pizza that he wanted though. The waiter then followed this up by saying that there was “a lot of wheat flying around in the kitchen” and asked whether this would be a problem given my son’s wheat allergy. I acknowledged that’s it impossible to totally remove an allergen from a kitchen and just asked that they took reasonable precautions when preparing the GF dough. He then followed this up immediately by saying that they had in fact ran out GF dough for pizza. It seemed rather odd that he didn’t mention this initially, and to be honest, it felt that they’d decided they didn’t want to serve us. My son was a bit upset by this - we’d been planning this as a special treat for him, so we decided to go elsewhere. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it at the time, but having reflected on it this evening I feel quite upset about our experience. I do understand that restaurants are, in the current climate, nervous about allergen mishaps, but in a venue whose menu makes a big point of highlighting their allergen awareness, and offers GF dough (at a £1.50 premium), this felt really suboptimal. The whole “wheat flying around” comment also really doesn’t inspire confidence, so I thought this ought to be shared in this forum so that others can be mindful of this when considering dining here in future.

This is the first time I actually saw a vegan Quattro formaggi, and all the cheese fans loved it! I preferred the veggie pizzas which were absolutely great! They also have pasta, salads and desserts. Staff is super friendly. Pride flag on the door too.
