Vegan Mala in Incheon! - Edit
I had seen listings for Seoul branches of this chain in Happy Cow and was excited to find one fairly near to me in Incheon. It was a short walk from Gajeong station, in what seemed like a popular area for eating.
Read moreI felt reassured as soon as I saw there were signs up about how to order vegan and knew I wasn't going to end up with bone-or-fish-based broth. (I normally avoid soupy things in Korea for this reason.)
There were a lot of fresh ingredients to choose from. Since not all were labelled, I stuck with the safe options, but still had a lot to choose from,especially mushrooms and tofu.
I ordered the vegan Malatang at 2.5 spicy and it came out after a short wait. The soup tasted nourishing and delicious and definitely spicy from the szechuan pepper!
The staff were friendly and seemed knowledgeable about veganism. I could probably have asked about the fridge ingredients I was unsure about, but got more than enough tasty things anyway.
