Vegan options disappointing - Edit
On paper, vegan B&E roll sounds great, but it’s definitely a let down from expectations.

A great Newy institution.
Read moreOpen all day and until late with plenty of vegan options amongst other foods. This includes coffee until 12am which would have to be the latest coffee available in Newcastle.
I tried the vegan bacon and egg roll.
Which was delicious with a Smokey BBQ sauce and fried onions though the tofu egg was albeit a little bit bland underneath the BBQ sauce.
Still for only $12 who can go wrong. A cheap and easy vegan snack on the go.
I've heard their vegan desserts are particularly good, so hopefully I can give them a go soon 🙏❤️

Not impressive - Edit
The cafe has a really cool vibe and I was excited to try the vegan plate the hungry hippie sadly the vegan ‘eggs’ was very bland and the vegan ‘bacon’ made of some vegetables not very good lucky we got a side veef vegan patty which saved it. The rest of the plate was fine but honestly did not think a tofu scramble could be so boring usually hard to stuff it up. I wish they just got a store bought vegan bacon sometimes that’s a better option then some vegetables disguised as faux meat. I think this cafe is really cool and has potential just need to improve the vegan options.

Delicious burger - Edit
I love the decor and booths in son of a gun. Friendly staff. I had a vegan dirty bird burger. Staff explained that the chicken patty is made in house. One of the best vegan chicken burgers I've had in a while. The fries were also amazing. Lovely drinks list.
