Just amazing and delicious. - Edit

This restaurant is very nice with great decoration. Well worth the half an hour walk to get there. Absolute great value for money. The food is delicious, the staff very friendly, even though they speak limited English. I definitely recommend going there even if it's a bit out of your way! Thank me later ;)

Pros: Nice and clean restaurant, great value for money.

Cons: nothing

Good local food, excellent value - Edit

This place is actually quite close to our hotel so we came here for dinner. Not hard to find at all with the street sign. Staff was friendly but very little English. Ordering was easy with the well illustrated menu, but be prepared to whip out your translation app if you have even simple questions beyond what you can already see.

We ordered a rice dish with four different fried items, mushroom satay, a tempeh side that came with a soup, and fried noodles. Everything was great, and we were even happier when we saw bill—only IDR 67,500 (USD ~5)!

The kicker was that they had no phones or taxi numbers and were unable to call us a cab. We ended up walking down the road to a nearby hotel and asking their front desk for help. So, make sure to have your return transportation arranged before you decide to eat here.

Pros: good food, cheap, nice staff

Cons: logistics to/from there, limited english

Friendly staff with Nice javanese dishes - Edit

We came here on our first night. The dishes are very interesting and had a lot of little things on the plate to try. One of the dishes came with a strange soup made from some kind of berry. It wasnt pleasant but was nice to try some local javanese foods along with the rest of the dish. the owner gave us a free drink as it was Ramadan so that was really nice. We tried one of their carrot brownies, pretty good and good price too. A must visit during your stay in Yogya.

Pros: local javanese foods and drinks, Friendly staff

Simple and Cheap - Edit

A delightful little restaurant, easy to find as there is a big sign on the side of the main road. The menu has about 20 choices, the tempe, tofu set was good. The manager spoke a little English but just point to the picture.
We chose 4 items and had a fruit tea each, total cost only 55000 Rupiah. Bargain!
