A woman-owned fully vegan micro bakery close to Kintestu train station. Serves baked goods of all kinds including (Real) bread, bagels, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, etc. Also serves coffee and tea. Open Wed 11:30am-6:00pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-6:00pm. Closed Sun-Tue, Thu.

Amazing Home Bakery with a Lot of Soul - Edit
Been meaning to write this review for a few months after a recent trip to japan so glad to finally get around to it!
Read moreLast day in japan, decided to take last minute trip to Uji around 5pm in the evening. Being vegetarian, not many places to look, happy cow showed this as the only spot and closing in 30 minutes. Ended up walking through some residential streets to a home and found the owner (mako) playing piano so mistakenly thought i was in the wrong spot. She eventually saw me going back and forth around the house to find the bakery and showed me the front door.
The food is amazing, but the really hard to describe just how much warmth and soul is put into it by mako. The shop is her families home! Ended up being one of the highlights of my entire trip just having visited the place, will 100% be coming back.

The store is also a super cute store with some seats. You can also get coffee, tea or matcha.
Take shoes off, after the entrance area. Cash only. Owner speaks some English; but signs are in Japanese only.
Close to Uji station (JR line), north exit.

Super cute vegan bakery! - Edit
The owner is extremely nice and the food excellent! We had a super tasty sandwich, a small pizza and some cinnamon and matcha donuts, everything was very tasty! The place is also extremely cute! The bakery is entirely vegan (not tons of options as everything is freshly made).

The owner is lovely.

Coziest Vegan Bakery - Edit
Absolutely loved this bakery, the intentional space and sweet owner made visiting Uji so special. We ate two baked goods there and were treated so kindly. We loved it so much we took a few pastries with us for our train ride to Osaka. The kindness of the owner and the amazing all vegan baked goods makes this a place I couldn’t recommend enough.

Charming and very small bakery, lovely interior decoration. Has a variety of vegan bread, donuts, cinnamon rolls etc. as well as tea or coffee. I had a cinnamon roll and it was delicious!

Cute micro bakery! - Edit
We went there are in our previous stop in Nara all restaurants where not open and we were really hungry by now. This store is run by a really nice lady, she bakes everything herself and the bread is finally not sweet. She has loafs, bread rolls, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, fresh produce, coffee etc. Worth a stop!
