Dissapointing.

The venue is cute. But there were NO vegan options. It doesn't make sense why they would go from mostly plant-based to no vegan options at all. They did say that they have vegan options sometimes but can't say when exactly. The service was therefore a bit sad. I only got a coffee but I would've bought pastries if they had any so I can't comment on the price of those.

Pros: Cute venue, Good coffee

Cons: They didn't have anything vegan, They charged extra for oat milk, I didn't feel like they cared about my request

No vegan pastries

Nice and cosy cafe and bakery, but no vegan pastries. They sell sourdough bread. The guy said they 'sometimes' have vegan pastries.

Pros: Cosy cafe

Cons: No vegan options besides some drinks and the bread

No vegan options

Visited here in January 2024 and the embarrassed looking guy behind the counter said they had no vegan options. We ate elsewhere. The Happy Cow description needs updating.

Tasty vegan pastry, but only one vegan option

The vegan raspberry pastry was very delicious (49 kr)! The café is cute and has a welcoming atmosphere. However, no warm dishes are served at the moment, so the description here on HappyCow is kind of misleading. Additionally, there was only one vegan option. More options for vegetarians are available, e.g. sandwiches.

Pros: Homey and cozy atmosphere , Vegetarian only, Delicious

Cons: Only one vegan option, No savory vegan options , No hot dishes

Not for vegans

We had ice coffee with oat milk and that was really lovely. On the other hand they had nothing vegan there to eat. They told us the reason was that the vegan pastries sold poorly when they had them. If you are vegetarian I would recommend this place tho since the eggs and the milk come from their own chickens and cows.

Cons: Nothing vegan to eat

Keine veganen Optionen

Wir waren heute dort aber vegane Angebote gab es keine. In allen Produkten war Butter.

Schade!

Few but good vegan cakes

Solros is a small café and bakery that offers two vegan Norwegian donuts, the rest being vegetarian only (except maybe for the soup of the day). So the place is mostly to have a coffee and a little break but it is not the place to eat if you are vegan. The coffee is good and the donuts too, perfect for a stop on the pedestrian street.

Pros: good Norwegian donuts, friendly staff, central, good coffee

Cons: very limited vegan options

Tasty vegan choices

Only two options but they were very tasty. Raspberry and pistachio & cherry and almond. Lots of filling!

Tasty pastries perfect for a hike.

Stopped to pick up a raspberry-pistachio and a cherry-almond doughnut before our walk up the mountains. Both were very tasty. Like our doughnuts from Happy Donut but with more fillings! The raspberry one was my favourite, but both were great. A lovely sticky snack for out and about.

Perfect

Finally a barista who knows how to handle oat milk. Great coffee and vegan pastries. Wonderful place to get a vegan or vegetarian sandwich. The sourdough bread is amazing, and meat eaters will enjoy the sandwich too. The place is really cozy and they have outdoor seating as well. Daily vegan and vegetarian dish/soup.

delicious cinnamon rolls!

I came by this charming point for a sweet breakfast and coffee today. I had a delicious coffee on oat milk and ate a cinnamon roll (actually two, they were so good) and some other nut cake. Vegan dinner option, soup and vegan sandwiches are also available.

Pros: many vegan options, great location, beautiful interior and a friendly staff

Must visit in Bergen

As a local, Solros is one of the few places in Bergen I would recommend. This relatively new café is managed by a young couple who really know their craft and care about sustainability.

The beauty of this place is that every day it is a surprise what they have to offer. The ingredients of the lunch and baked goods change with the seasons and vary from day to day.

Highly recommended.

Pros: Sustainable, Delicous, Independent

Perfect vegan breakfast

We went here in the morning, there were two vegan pastries : cardamom roll and cinnamon roll. Sooo tasty and soft!
Too bad that we didn't have time to come for lunch.
The front is lovely with his bright blue, typical!

Pros: Located in a pedestrian area, Few steps from the train station

Tastes homemade

On a cold Norway day we both had soup and sourdough bread. Very good and tasted homemade. Little expensive like a lot of places here but still a good stop. Some of their desserts are also vegan! The cinnamon rolls were sold out but the other roll and the chocolate tart are both vegan and look delicious.

Pros: Tastes great like homemade. , Very nice people

Cons: Little expensive

Tasty and satisfying lunch

They offer one or two hot meals every day in addition to their bakery goods. I had a nice and filling stew with rice and some salad. Not to mention they seriously know their sourdough.

An extra plus for some super cute, stylish and unique interior details!

Pros: They seem to offer a different hot dish every day, Pro about coffee too but in a non showy manner, Tastefully decorated

Cons: It's small, and a bit loud

Very cosy place

Cosy cafe with very good sandwiches and delicious sourdough bread. Limited menu/options, but both the sandwich and the warm dish was vegan. Only one cake type out of five was vegan though. Their lemonade was very good and not too sweet. Good coffee too

Pros: Great bread and sandwiches , Fresh and great lemonade, Reasonable prices

Cons: Limited options, Only one vegan cake , Small cafe with limited seatings

Yummy vegan and quite reasonable food.

I'm so glad that Solros just opened. Not only is it just around the corner from the hostel I'm staying at in Bergen (Marken Guesthouse (Gjuestehus)), it is also quite reasonably priced for Norway. Two wholesome dishes-of-the-day of which I could not choose between, so they split a plate of both dishes and I enjoyed them over rice. Dessert was very yummy also since the chef I spoke with is primarily an excellent pastry chef. Everyone was very friendly and I will return tomorrow morning for their vegan breakfast sandwich.

Pros: Quite reasonable priced good vegan food in Norway!

Cons: Can't think of a Con. I really liked Solros.
